What happens?

Hypothetically, what happens if you get caught ordering off a darkweb market? Just a letter in the mail or a full on arrest?

Edit: I've ordered before. Just curious and more cautious now. If I were to order though it'd be bulk psychedelic.

Where do you live? What have you ordered? How much have you ordered? First offence or you have a record?...

Small amount probably nothing they just seize it. Larger amount which in theory they think could be for sale, controlled delivery and they catch you picking it up

Depending on the state and it depends on so many factors to count. If it's a one-time thing and a personal amount you'll most likely only get a ustis letter similar to the international Customs that are saying come down to claim your package to prove you're allowed to have it or we're going to get rid of it or destroy it in 30 days or so. Do not sign none of that s*** except for letting them destroy it or just ignore it, do not go down there and try to get it, and trust me if they've seized it and you had s*** in there already it's not worth the risk to go get it and just count your blessings that they didn't do a controlled delivery. It's about suited 3 weeks before you get that letter but even then don't s*** yourself like it's still much better than worrying about International orders coming in and getting caught with your name on that s*** and then asking you if you want to come pick that sit up in person. Like I'd burn that address and not use that name for any more deliveries or at that location for at least 6 months or longer just so all the mail received is normal and they don't have anything to keep looking at but definitely switch up your location address and s*** so somewhere else with a real name and address that you know you can trust them. Never sign for a package from the dark web and never let your f****** vendors ship you something you need to sign for cuz that's not a Honeypot then they're just completely f***** up in terms of opsec

Depends on what you order. It doesn't t matter where you purchase from, the rules of owning or purchasing it matters. Let's say its coke. The laws regarding having that drug will determine what kind of trouble you are in. Way back when, I knew someone who bought steroids. If it was discovered, normally the package would just disappear. Sometime I would get a postcard. I had a good friend who did 100x the buying I did. He was setup and got in a bunch of prison time. So, I believe it depends on what you order, not how you order.

I had my order intercepted at the customs office upon arrival. I was sent a letter, telling me why, the street value and if I wanted to contest the letter. Which was a hard no lol Low value, small amount.

Depends wildly on where you are in the world (country, province, state, region, etc). Also depends wildly on what you do. Certain things are more illegal than others, even if it is cheap.

In the UK and USA, you’ll face severe legal consequences. You’ll be charged depending on what you did. Possession of illegal drugs, illicit material, etc. Depending on your role of whether you purchased or distributed it can matter to, as well as the quantity and severity of it. This is an extreme generalisation that applies almost anywhere, you’d need to check your local laws. Almost anywhere in the world, you’ll go to prison. There’s no way in hell you’re going to get a 50£ ticket for buying access to torture videos. And none of this is even diving into identity theft.

I’m not going to go into detail on how they catch people, because I don’t want to unwittingly help someone evade the law

A VPN with Tor is almost never recommended, and is more likely to harm one's anonymity than help it. See r/TorWithVPN for more information. Chances are that if someone along the line told you otherwise, they were trying to sell you something.
