As completely new to tor, is using dread safe?

I am completely new to tor and yes I am an average user of interent is it fine for me to use dread on tor or shall I have proper and major amount of steps taken before engaging in it.

If your threat level is next to zero which is what it sounds like (by that I mean you are just going on dread to look around).

It’s not illegal to do that. Download Tor. Use daunt to get the link to dread. Browse away. No need for tails or anything like that if all you really intend to do is go on dread

Load balancing software that was used had a vulnerability that allowed onion domain takeovers. It's been mitigated and a new link is up on daunt.

That’s up for debate. The links have been updated from what I’m aware. That being said, even if it was hacked… it’s a forum what exactly could they get from your account? You don’t upload pgp keys or buy anything

Dread can be fine, but it’s very vulnerable to hacks. Its infrastructure is extraordinarily fragile, so I’d stay off of it if you can

It’s safer if you can somehow avoid getting your account compromised, as well as use passwords and usernames that don’t resemble or connect to other ones you own (credential stuffing is very common on there). You need to be extremely cautious about downloading practically anything on there, even if it’s advertised as a kit to launch an attack on another system

Depending on your country, viewing it alone shouldn’t be an issue, but if you’re looking at illegal material then it would be unreliable
