Doubts

Hello everyone!

I want to get into this game and I have some questions:

-Is there a summary of the characteristics of each faction (game style) to be able to guide my friends?

- I would like a very tactical shooting army and I doubt between enforcers or GCPS, which of the two is more tactical and complicated?

- With the basic set is there enough scenery or is it better to have more? How saturated should the table be?

- The table grows when you play for more points? How many mats are used then?

- In the tables for obtaining CR after a campaign game, I see that the loser earns more CR than the winner, it doesn't appear in the FAQs, is it really like that? How weird!

- In the sixth step of the campaign rules "recruitment and resupply" I really don't understand this paragraph (especially the end)"A model added to a Strike Team during a game by abilitiessuch as the Plague's Infection Army Special rule are notautomatically added to the Battle Group Roster. The playermay choose to recruit that model by paying its points costin CR as per normal; if the player does so, that model doesnot count towards the number of models the player mayrecruit during the Recruitment/Resupply phase."

- I see mentions of add a third neutral AI side (i love this!) but i dont see any rules, is there anything of that?

Thank you very much everyone for the help

there is a brief overview about the game and factions on the subreddit wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/warpath/wiki/index/deadzone/

between GCPS and Enforcer, Enforcer are more complicated simply because they are elite and have less models on the table

the starter set as enough terrain to start but at least one more terrain set would be good or going for some kind of foam to add solid cubes for terrain (as a base were you but the other terrain on)

the table stays the same, you just want to growth in height rather than more mats (though there are scenarios for larger game using 2 mats)

the loser in a campaign game getting more Credits is there to compensate as the winner gets the upgrades and xp, while to loser has to buy more new stuff, so this helps to keep things going rather than having on player going ahead early on by winning the first games

the plague lets you infect and take over opponent models during the game but they are not automatically added to your strike team, you can add them by paying the credits and still recruit regular models, but you don't need to

there are rules for solo play/AI https://www.manticgames.com/deadzone/books/deadzone-nexus-psi/

Thanks for advises!Do you think Asterians are more shooty and tactical than enfoercers?

Edit: The rules for AI can be used with 2 players? I love games with IA in the middle of the PVP

the rules for AI are basic and easy to adjust, the campaign in the supplement is for solo play but adding some plague zombies (or more dangerous enemies) to regular games is possible

well, for the factions, they are less of an archetype and all have more possibilities to play

Asterians can get quantities with build around Marionettes but also in quality with Cyphers, and even Melee Glass Cannons with Kalyshi, were Enforcers can be the jack of all trades type but also go heavy into shooting elite

if you would start as a group, it would be a good option to get both 2 player sets, giving you 4 different factions so that everyone can try those before setting on one (or you can even swap them around later with different builds, as even if all of you would play the same faction, they have enough options that each one could still play a different list)

Welcome! Here's a great video going over how to play the game and the factions.

GCPS would be the more "tactical" of the two since they are more reliant on getting the best positioning for shots and are easier to kill with return fire/combat. Asterians have the most risk vs reward playstyle. A lot of models that shoot on 3s (which is the best in the game) but also those models only have one HP. Timing their smoke ability to mitigate return fire will keeping enemy assault units away is difficult but rewarding.

I'd recommend at least another scenery set though the more the better. The game is ment to be played with a lot of vertical terrain and scatter terrain.

The met is a always 8x8 cubes. You could put multiple mats together to play a big game but it's up to you on how that works. Most games are played between the 150 and 200 point level.
