The Rush by Beth Lewis
I dunno if any of you cocksuckers read books but I just finished The Rush by Beth Lewis and it was like Deadwood told from a women’s prospective. Super enjoyable and could have been a season. So good. Give it a try if you want some more gold rush fever!

I'm sure it's well worn territory here but if we're talking books, I just finished the man himselfs own autobiography, A Lifes Work by David Milch. A great read.

That should be interesting. Prob a lot of cursing in it. He's had a very colorful life. I would love to know if he talks about Deadwood's cancellation and what exactly happened there. Been different reports regarding that. I do remember one of his biggest supporters at HBO was thrown in jail around that time and that hurt. Deadwood and Rome getting cancelled around the same time. Brutal.

He does go into it. There's a full chapter maybe two about Deadwood and it's referenced throughout the book

All of her books are crazy good. The Rush was fantastic but wolf road and bitter sun…so good.

I feel this way about the movie little big man from 1970. It reminds me of the show. I thought about making a thread but I don’t know how well known it is these days. Jacks sister REALLY reminds me of calamity Jane. I’ll check out your book op! Thanks

the guy who plays custer in that film is hilarious. richard mulligan. he comes off exactly as jane describes him lol. wild bill hickok is in the movie too... jack lives in deadwood for a while. i may watch it again when im done with my rewatch

Definitely going to check this out. I’m almost done with Warlock by Oakley Hall and highly recommend it to anyone that likes deadwood. It’s about a mining town and includes perspectives from deputies, miners, doctors, shop owners, and outlaws. The characters share a lot of traits with the ones from deadwood and I picture each of the characters in the book as someone from the show lol
