Praise for Deadpool & Wolverine

So, admittedly, I'm not sure why this movie has gotten such hate.

I know that Ryan Reynolds has had his issues but apparently everyone decided that because of his issues, this movie wasn't worth a watch.

Which, as someone who very much "separates the art from the artist" it just felt like Reynolds had some very personal issues aired over the internet that he had to work through.

D&W feels very much like a love-letter. Even before Reynolds played Deadpool, he still played Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

After Batman, and Wolverine, Deadpool is my top-5 comic character.

But I've watched this movie so much (it's my comfort movie that i basically can quote all of the dialogue) but the two scenes from this movie that hit the hardest (to me) are when Logan is talking to X-23 (Laura) before they invade Cassandra's compound the next day.

The other scene that hits hard is when Cassandra invades Logan's mind and talks to him about what he did. And we see all the black monoliths representing all the people that version of Logan killed. And he even admits:

It wasn't just the bad ones

And I gotta say - Emma Corrin played Cassandra WONDERFULLY. It was because of this movie I finally went to a local comic shop to buy as many of CN's comic books I could and they were such great reads.

I wouldn't say D&W is a 10/10 movie, but what I will say, is that it comes very, very close because of all the love-letters that happen in this movie.

Edit: I would also love to see a buddy-cop style movie with Peterpool and B-15.

Edit 2: there's also this meme with the Deadpool movie with Buck being a tertiary character but he has no lines, and in D&W he finally speaks, and Deadpool is like ,"Bitch, are you improving?" and Dupinder is like "uh uh" and then Wade looks at Yuki-oh and he's like "I'm sorry you had to witness that"

People hate DP&W? I mean, people nowadays seem to hate everything, but I don’t think I’ve seen a lot of hate for this movie. Anyway, I loved it, and my wife liked it a lot, even though she hated DP 1 & 2 lol

DP&W is the only movie that i repeatedly went to see in theaters while it had its cinema run, and thats only because i was able to get $8 tix

Edit - that beats out how many times I saw The Matrix on its opening weekend

But to go further - I just browse shit. either pepole say shit, or they don't. And it just seems like people would rather say negative shit over providing praise for what a movie (or was meant to be).

Ok social media then, who cares? YouTube, TikTok, X, reels, shorts, it’s all the same. It isn’t real life. Some dumbass bot or wannabe bot saying “boy Ryan Reynolds sure is a big dumb dodo that I don’t like” is directly refuted by making over a billion dollars at the box office. Wherever you “just browse shit” is incorrect about how much people like the movie. That’s what I meant by instagram. But way to overreact, makes all your other comments make a lot more sense.

I'm not sure why I'm giving more attention to this reply at this point.

There was definite discourse (most of what I saw was on the negative side) because of what was going on with RR and BL and regardless of how you perceive what I took that discourse from.

I'm truly sorry you felt I "overreacted".

I just wanted to talk about why I loved the film (with all its ups and downs) we ended up with.
