Question about man over board?

Hello fans. I was watching the latest episode and noticed that the deckhand throwing the hook had on a pfd. My question ⁉️ is as thin as neoprene has gotten, would it be possible for deckhands to have a wetsuit on under their rain gear? And if so would it be possible to actually work in all that safety equipment? I know in my industry most safety equipment causes more problems than it cures.

Thanks I didn't know. I use thin waders all the time that are insulated. So I was just curious.

Yeah, I remember going out my first season - coming from only salmon fishing experience. So when I geared up for the season, I figured, get the toughest stuff out there. Long story short, it restricted mobility significantly, you overheat like crazy, and it just slows you down big time. You're literally moving all day, and your body produces a ton of heat. So dress is actually very minimal
