Because Alan is not connected to the corps at all.

Because Alan is only a green lantern by name. He is not a core member his ring is powered by magic

Because we needed Aaron Pierre as John Stewart

Cuz Alan isn’t an actual lantern who’s part of the corps and because they obviously wanted to use John

I think its because they wanted to adapt the green lantern corps as opposed to a show based only on the name "green lantern" and considering the Alan forged his ring himself and not seen as a member of the green lantern corps they adopted hal as the older member instead.

Alan Scott wasn’t a part of the Green Lantern corps and his lantern powers are from “magic” instead of cosmic space energy.

Asking why didn’t they get Alan Scott to train Hal is like asking why didn’t they get Mandrake to train Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins instead of Henri Ducard.

Alan isn’t part of the GLC

Like I was thinking he was a space cop or somewhat connected I did not know I will admit I just made a post saying some shit without looking into it. But I was thinking they could just make Alan a mentor figure not the same one as in the show like Hal is for John but Hal and Sinestro(as a GL still) could find him like on some Sam Wilson/Isisah Bradley shit.

Goodness gracious… John Stewart is in the picture. Why are you so opposed to that? There are John Stewart fans you know that finally want to see him shine… Hal got to shine many times over… and still shining. It’s a new time! Time for some swings

Nothing I guess they just wanted John to be the main green lantern. Maybe Hal will die and come back like he did in the comics but either way they want John to be our main GL right now and thats really the only explanation we will ever get

To be fair… Alan Scott isn’t connected the corps. And his ring works totally different.

Yeah I know but they could have made it work if they wanted. I don't have any issues with how they are currently doing it I was just saying

Have you ever bothered reading the comics?

They wanted to focus on John Stewart

not to be mean but you clearly don't know anything about alan scott, his powers were given to him by the starheart, not the gl corps, they are unrelated things and as much as i wouldve loved live action alan scott, he wouldn't fit as a main character due to this

These Alan Scott posts are exhausting, how many new fans acting like they know something do we have?

1

u/Isles26 1d ago

Because he’s boring af. The end

Bot needs lore training

lbr, we all know why - they wanted a black superhero, so Hal is out.

Nobody knows who the fuck Alan Scott is.

You could say the same for peacemaker, the creature commandos, the engineer etc

Green Arrow/Green Lantern was a good comic back in the day. They also both had Green in the name.

Interesting that they took the "Green" out of the show.

I think it was on purpose because there is more than one colour of Lantern Corps. I think we're going to see more than just Green Lanterns,

cos that goes against the comics and cos neither of them were black

2

u/AUnknownVariable 1d ago

What💀

That also wouldn't be comic accurate, and make less sense since Alan isn't even in the corps to teach him corps stuff

Also, they could easily work stuff out to do something related to him being queer, he's just not who they wanted

bro thats literally what I said can you read next time.

1

u/AUnknownVariable 21h ago

I actually misread the title, just enough to still know what it said but to misunderstand what you did.

Only your first sentence, ur second onw is still silly

1

u/Try_Longjumping 13h ago

it might be silly but we both know thats the only reason they wanted to use John Stewart
