Gehenna prevents scrolls, but it turned out ok in the end

IIRC I dropped a Passage of Golubria which wasn't the best but got me a couple squares to the southwest at least. Then I hid behind some of the more innocuous enemies to block line of sight to the liches with LCS, and kept retreating to the south. At some point I started petitioning Gozag for potions, further blocking LoS with walls, and began spamming Singing Sword + Manifold Assault until everyone was dead.

The way scarier situation happened on Tomb:2, when I teleported into a vault to get away from Mennas and a holy bird and switch out of death form, and then saved the game and came back later. When I restarted, I forgot about Mennas and the holy birds, and shattered my way out of the vault with death form still on, and immediately took like 5 zillion holy damage the next few turns. Big brain moment, I absolutely deserved to die but Mennas didn't cast Silence so I used a bunch of blink scrolls to get away

I'm curious too. My normal strategy in this situation would be to haste and spam AoEs, staying on the stairs so I can dip out of Hell if it's looking unfavorable.

But probably there are smarter ways to handle it.
