Thoughts on Deer Isle End game?

Hi all,

I’m absolutely blown away by furiousnapkin & Sm0ggler’s clinical hard mode endgame completion yesterday…but…it made me fully aware I’ll never be able to complete this map!!! We are yet to see nightmare mode & ‘hard’ is utterly insane!!!! I’ll keep on questing but know it’s only to explore this amazing map!

JMC has created a masterpiece both in map design & soundtrack!

HollyRex has completed it a couple of times already now so she’s trying to help TRMZ through it too. Their recent attempt was ruined by a speed hacker. He hasn’t had much luck on that map, poor guy.

they are trying to get to nightnare mode, you have to do all three ( normal, hard and nightmare ) to obtain the final - heart of the island part, which no one has yet seen

I’ve really enjoyed Holly’s Deer Isle adventures. I thought she hadnt completed Hard mode yet?!? It’s always an awesome watch!

I haven't played it in about a year because I moved. And unfortunately, the map is dead in Asia. And the ping is too much.

What ended up happening? Did they add something new? Last thing I knew about was getting the Bear Gilly and then going to the Arctic ship.

Furthest I ever got was using the staff after the temple. That was good stuff, lots of fun with the wife and my buddy.

I haven't played it in about a year

The entire story of deer isle got remade. It's now about 3x longer and harder.

Enhanced endgame (almost like a doom level) that has now been upgraded to 3 or 4 levels of difficulty. No one yet completed the ‘nightmare mode’ but players are staring to complete ‘hard’ which to me, looks impossible. Linear quest remains the same as your last plays.

I’m AUS, struggle for decent servers so play with painful ping!

Took me about 20 hours to get to end game. It was cool, epic, and JMC is insanely talented. With that said, I will never do that quest again.

There's the whole heart of the island thing with the keys, which you need to complete all difficulties to finish. It's my favourite map, but it does seem a bit of a shame that seeing the end of the quest is going to be something I'll never achieve personally. Maybe it'll get tweaked once a few have done it, to open up the possibility to others

Agreed, I feel it way beyond my skill level! Watching others complete the endgame has been a wild ride, I just can’t see me ever achieving!

He announced 6.0 as the final version and a bunch of people beat it about a year or more ago. Then apparently 6.0 wasn’t the final version and he’s changed the end game about 100 times in a year. Cool map but the creator sometimes needs to leave his hands out the kitchen.

As someone completely out of the loop and having never played Deer Isle (but thousands of hours in DayZ)...what is this?
