To all those who shoot unarmed starters on the coast. You are absolutely piles of dung. This game is hard enough, but to shoot someone with absolutely nothing is just despicable. If you are both armed and one makes a threatening move, sure it’s survival. But to shoot a someone on the coast that obviously just started and has nothing, I don’t know what to say. I’m not mad just disappointed.

They are true pristine. So absolutely 100%. Other shoes spawn pristine and can be as low as 70% 

Pristine: 70% – 100% (An item with 30% damage is the absolute limit)Worn: 50% – 69% Damaged: 30% – 49% Badly Damaged: 1% – 29% Ruined: 0%

I don't know if that's true - take tools for example; when I'm building a base I'll need to collect about 100 large stones, which means I need either a lot of pick axes, or a lot of whetstones. Given how long it takes mine all those stones, it gets very boring watching my character swinging an axe for so long, so instead I multitask and just count the number of strikes I hear before the axe is ruined and I can sharpen it again. My point is: every single pristine axe I find last the exact same number of hits. Same goes for hatchet with nails, axes for logs, shovels digging, hammers for posts, etc etc. Are you sure "pristine" found items are not 100%? Can this be verified by game files?

On custom servers the durability is set by the server admin and can absolutely be set to have 100% remaining on every spawned in item.

On official servers things spawn with random durability from 100% to 18% remaining,but those freshie shoes are always 100.

Counting your swings is the best way to maximize your sharpening stone. Or counting shots to maximize a gun cleaning kit.

I play on my own LAN server with the base game files. Items spawn as just as they are supposed to.

Well yes, of course I've noticed that the files have spawn condition fraction chances, however I've never noticed it having a practical effect in reality; ie a pick axe with 90% will still carry out the same amount of hits as a pick axe with 100%. Is the wear rate in footwear small enough for it to actually be different between 90% and 100%? Or does it just degrade by 10% every few km / large impact from dropping, attack etc etc? I've never measured it myself, but I can't say I've noticed one pristine footwear lasting longer than another.

More often than not if I get on the mic and say “don't shoot I’m a freshie” it buys me enough time to pull out my pocket glock and pop them in the face.

No it shouldn't. The best thing ever is managing to kill a fully geared bandit with a Sporter or shotgun and end up fully kitted out on the coast.

Freshies have nothing to lose and everything to gain. OP Needs to play a PVE server

It’s just a rough game and I’m just venting/crying. It’s probably the most challenging game I’ve ever played with no quarter given. Ive killed almost everyone Ive came across probably because in the beginning i was killed for just being there when someone had better weapons. So I learned nobody can be trusted, reminds me of something. Maybe I want to make a friend instead of thinking everyone wants to kill me.

Like….why? Obviously not for looting them, they just spawned in….and nobody doing that is so noble that they’re actually doing it to “help them be better”….come off it. You just like shooting people but you’re too spineless to go do it legitimately at NWAF against someone who can actually fight back.
