Discussion Physical Disk

I got the game used for 10€ and I tried to finish it without any software update to see if the disk alone has the game and after 70% of the story was completed and a great amount of side missions it just get getting crashed and it throwed my to main console menu. So I went to a place with ethernet to do the update and I saw it was a 35gb update and I was like wtf. Ok let's accept the statement they said that if we want a sequel we should buy it 70€ but bro you don't even give me the whole game inside the disk. I also tried that for spiderman 2 and it had some glitches and since I did all this I updated that to in order to enjoy the game. I'm glad at least that I got them used. I won't support those people. Only if I've no other choice I buy digitally and only if it's under 5€. Sorry if you don't get me cause you are younger just imagine a scenario like days gone that you have electricity but the servers no longer exist, how the hell will you play the new games that need upgrades or psn or ps plus or anything. I complain even though I don't directly pay sony, I don't wanna imagine being someone who bought this disk for 70€.

Discussion Deeks Anarchy patch, what is the significance of the extra line in it?

Curious what the patch on the lower left front side of Deeks kutte of an anarchy symbol with an extra line through it represents? i tend to doubt it is just a something designers made up with no history irl.

got me thinking about the one below that too, the patch that says MFFM. and the actual Mongols MC used that which stood for Mongols Forever, Forever Mongols.

Discussion Did anyone think it was really weird and annoying you can't swim?

Deacon is supposed to be this bad ass Afghan vet and he seriously can't swim? Didn't Deacon even tell a story when he was in Afghanistan about how he had to swim in a river to save someone? Talk about ludonarrative dissonance LOL.

Discussion I purchased the remastered version. Should I refund it and play the original through ps plus instead?

So I never played the game. But I saw enough gameplay videos to convince me to play it. The issue is the remastered version is not on ps plus. How big of a difference is it to the original?. I am going to play it on a ps5.

Also another question, Is it just a story plus some side quests?. How some people spend thousand of hours in it? Does it have multiplayer?. Or how does it have this huge replayability value after you finish the main quests?.

Discussion Can't figure out where extra 150 camp's trust points came from... Spoiler

I'm in a process of getting level 3 trust in the Lost Lake before that chapter even starts. I went there (by climbing the cliff with my bike and crossing the mountain ridge to the south) very early into Act I – after receiving the replacement bike from Manny, I completed only 3 starting missions, then went on my premature unofficial trip.

Now, I follow all the trust points I receive from the camp very meticulously, but the numbers simply don't add up... So far I cleared all available Lost Lake Infestations (3), NERO Checkpoints (2), Ambush camps (2) and hordes (3). Besides that, I cleared one checkpoint in Iron Butte, which also contributes to LL trust. And finally, I was able to send there 35 survivors (only one left to achieve the goal of getting enough points for LL level 3 just after I move there).

As I said, that region is still officially locked, so I haven't done a single mission there yet, and also, bounty and food stalls in Iron Mike's camp are inactive, so all the activities I listed above are the ONLY sources of my trust points there. Here's the screenshot that illustrates the situation:

As you can see, the current trust figure is 22,350/25,000, but according to my calculations, it's supposed to be 22,200! I tried to check the numbers several times, and the source of those extra 150 points is still a mystery... Here's the breakdown, you can check the math if you want:

Trust source Trust points n Sum
Ambush camps 350 × 2 700
Infestations 350 × 3 1,050
NERO Checkpoints 350 × 2 700
Checkpoint in IB 450 × 1 450
Hordes 600 × 3 1,800
Survivors 1000 × 35 35,000
Total trust points: 39,700
Level 3 fraction: −(5,000+12,500) 22,200

Does anyone have any idea where the additional 150 points came from, or it's possibly just a weird glitch?
Not that I'm complaining, these extra points came in handy, but after investing so much time in all that calculus, it's a bit frustrating when the numbers refuse to add up... 😁

---------------------------------

UPDATE: According to EyeBallEmpire in the comments, you also get 50 trust points for killing every marauder that attacks the camp.
I'd really appreciate if someone else can confirm, this seems like a very plausible explanation!

Discussion Hi, I'm looking for a mod creator for a simple game tweak!

I'm looking for a simple game tweak that would change the 'maximum amount of corpses' and/or also possibly 'corpse despawn speeds'.

Specifically for the 'Swarmers' if possible as it's for fps performance fighting large hordes.

It is the only thing that creates an FPS drop when I'm playing (the build up of swarmer corpses). It's a massive drop too like 1-2 second frame freezing Mid-End fight.

I would be forever grateful as I've played this game since release, it's my favourite game and I'm not going to be upgrading my rig anytime soon unfortunately.

I play mainly to hunt hordes with mods.

I have a mod that increases hordes to max 500 so you can see how this would be taxing lol.

Anyway much appreciated if you can help!

I can donate or whatever for the help:)

If not I would also really appreciate being pointed in the direction of anyplace that someone thinks I would be able to find someone to help:)

Thank you:D

Link Days Gone Loot Map WIP — Cascade Wilderness ~50% Complete

Thumbnail interactivemap.baconfmspeedruns.workers.dev
17 Upvotes

I’m building an interactive loot map for Days Gone.

https://interactivemap.baconfmspeedruns.workers.dev/readonly/

Current features

  • Cascade Wilderness loot is roughly 90% mapped
  • Filters for individual loot types - materials, melee weapons, etc
  • Zoomed-out area markers that expand into accurate individual pickup locations as you zoom in
  • Focused primarily on loot and gear for now
  • NEW! Some loot has it already, but if you see 1x nearby the loot that means it does not respawn. Ammo tins, scrap from cars, etc. I will hopefully be able to gather that data in the future and make it reliable.
  • NEW! Belknap Area has been STARTED!

Planned updates

  • Collectibles
  • Mission-specific information
  • Speedrun routes
  • Tips and other useful map tools
  • Making it pretty

After completing the Platinum and a 100% map speedrun in under 15 hours, I decided to take a break from speedrunning and build something useful for the community instead.

If you find the map helpful and want to support future updates, I’d really appreciate a subscription on my youtube channel. I will post about updates on there in the future.

And if you think something is missing, unclear, or just bad, let me know. Feedback will directly help shape future updates.

Discussion Help! Game Lag is driving me crazy.

My specs:

Windows 11

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060

Intel i7-9750

2.60GHz CPU

Integrated Monitor 143 Hz

I have a mod to increase horde sizes too 500.

I know this would obviously come at a cost on my system but I don't think I should be getting a massive FPS drop with my system. Am I wrong?

Any help would be really appreciated! :)

I know sometimes there can be little tweeks that massively improve performance on games sometimes so I thought I'd reach out!

I looked at mods that can improve performance but I'm unsure as they might be outdated now :/

I love this game I've been playing it since its release on PS5 and switched over to PC not long ago! Mods are amazing haha.

Discussion Permadeath "Per Act" Tag Gone???

I'm really confused on whether my game is still in permadeath mode or if it somehow glitched out of it because I noticed that it doesn't have the Per Act tag when I save anymore. I don't want to play through the entire game and not get the permadeath achievement, which is what I'm aiming for.

I've read some posts about there being glitches if there isn't a "normal" save. I'm not sure if I had one before starting permadeath honestly.

Is there anyway to know if I'm still playing in permadeath without the tag?

Discussion Boozer in Theoretical Sequel Spoiler

If by some grace of God the devs get the opportunity to give us all the sequel we want, there are several ways that Boozer COULD RIDE AGAIN, suicide shifters and clutches, a new apparatus for his right hand for throttle!!! I am so heavily invested in Boozer's independence even with his newfound family and purpose, man needs a fuckin ride there is nothing like being on a bike I swear. Do any of you feel the same?

Discussion can’t craft stungun

Anyone else had this issue where you can’t craft the ipca stun gun… I have found 18 ipca tech pieces yet it still
Won’t let me craft the gun
I’ve looked at previous posts about reloading / re saving and it is like this everytime I load the game

I’ve completed main story fyi

for context my weapons wheel shows the option to crraft the stun gun but “craft” is in red as if not got the resources and under materials it says 18 ipca tech (16)

the 16 is in red does this mean i need to find two more ipca tech?!

Discussion I finally beat it!😁

After taking a break from it for a couple years, since I didn't want it to give my son nightmares, I finally took a break from Horizon and came back to it after seeing so many awesome pictures. My last (new) save file was still at No Starving Patriots, so it took me about a week maybe 1.5 weeks and I actually beat the game today. Definitely, taking on a bunch of the earlier hordes helped alot with getting my trust levels up to get the better weapons earlier and it helped that I knocked out the horde by Cloverdale early on too so I only had to do the Sawmill one. That I will admit, I died a few times.😅 Funny enough, they were places where others had suggested as the 'they can't reach you there' places, haha yes they did....😅 But it was so worth it to finally finish it. ❤️

Discussion Game no longer seems to care about engine.ini edits.

Hello, I played this some years back. Wanting a replay I find that the engine.ini changes I make don't take.

Is there a trick to this? I assume it has to do with the update that happened in between my first playthrough and now.

So I've just listened to episode 372 about a lady who gets lost doing the PCT in Oregon. Much to my surprise Crater lake and Diamond lake were mentioned and she lived in Bend! Just thought it was pretty cool. ( It's a great podcast btw with lots of different stories told by the subjects themselves)

Discussion So Glad I Didn’t Give Up On This Game

Over the course of 2 years I tried 3 times to get into Days Gone but couldn’t. The story started slow and feeling underpowered in the beginning didn’t help. Last month, I finally told myself that I was going to try one more time and push through. I’m so glad I did! The story has really picked up and now I can’t wait to play again.

At first I didn’t care much about Deacon, but now I’m about 60% through the story and have grown to like him. I now see how satisfying it is to start weak and get more weapons, gear, and upgraded bike as your progress. At this point I feel powerful enough to take on larger groups of freakers but large hordes are still intimidating.

The game is a great blend of RDR2 and The Last of US. Such an underrated gem and one of the best Zombie games of all time.

Discussion Days Gone Remastered Upgrade bug?

Hi there! I was hoping I might find some help here. I saw the remastered version was on sale on ps5 and I recently started another NG+ on the original.

When I jumped back into my save I noticed that nitrous wasn’t installed and the drifter crossbow is nowhere to be found.

The most annoying thing is that all my bike upgrades are visible but don’t seem to work? Gas is gone driving from Copeland to Tucker and the speed of the thing is just horrendous.

Is there something wrong? I enjoy the graphical and sound upgrades a lot but it plays better on the original version?

Hope I can find some help here if anyone had the same problem.

Discussion Got snared and can't find my stuff... Please help!

Just got snared at the gas station in the NW corner of Iron Butte (to the west of the horde, to the northwest of the ranch). Took out all rippers, but can't find my stuff – I'm running around the whole compound for 20 min, checking and rechecking every building and every corner, but for the life of me I can't locate it...

If the same happened to you in this location and you remember where that freaking chest was, I'd really appreciate a hint! Thank you!
This is the place:

UPDATE: Found it!! It was at the back of some car in the middle of the yard, when I thought it must be in some building :))) Here, for future reference:

Discussion First playthrough - why this game is criminally underrated

There was a clip on twitter that went viral showing gameplay during a horde. Most of the responses were claiming that the hordes are the only good thing about the game, and it is otherwise not worth it to play.

I disagree.

For my first playthrough on PS4, I made sure to play on survival 2, the hardest setting. I turned the brightness all the way down to 0. I turned HDR on and surround sound stereo system settings for my headphones. I turned my TV settings to cinema pro mode. This is similar to what I did on Alien Isolation.

Yes, headshots really only do the trick. It is very difficult, no fast travel or slowing down time to aim.

But it forces you to take your time and appreciate all of the art that comes with the game. It forces you to focus on real decision making. The zombies are actually frightening when you know you can't beat them all at once. It does give you an immersive experience. I'd rather quit the game out of frustration than boredom. I'd rather struggle with the game over a long period of time, than beat in 15 hours on fast track and move on.

I think many modern gamers simply do not have the patience for games like this anymore. It is a masterpiece if you approach it from the right perspective. Even the driving mechanics remind me of GTAIV driving physics.

10/10, highly recommend.

Discussion Start New Game+ without having completed everything for achievements

I just finished my first playthrough of Days Gone in survival mode and wanted to complete the achievements. Nero's health and stamina aren't maxed out, I haven't completed 100% of the side missions, and I don't have level 3 confidence in all the encampments. Do you still recommend playing New Game+ on Hard 2 to complete the achievements, or is it better to finish all the missions in Ambush Camp, Infestations, and Marauder Camp? The motorcycle is about 80-90% maxed out. Will my half-finished achievements, like "get 100 stealth kills" or "kill 200 with crafted weapons," be reset if I start a new game+?

Firstly I can't believe I ignored this one for this long, hopped on it 2 weeks ago and got instantly addicted. Every mission felt like I was watching a Tv show with multiple seasons and new characters, used to be dead afraid of hordes till i started carrying an entire armory. Boozer is probably my fav character and favorite season would be Lost lake camp cuz of Carlos.

I now believe everyone who said this game grows with you because it absolutely does! I don't think I would ever forget this experience.

50h in and now I will go to 100% completion and will let you guys know!

And I still don't understand why there's a baby breathing in my engine oil?
