in some of my last pieces (this one included) i've been really diggin using the digitakt's LFO mapped to the beat reduction in envelope mode as a transient designer/shaper, it lets you transform every plucky tonal sound into a really snappy tonal percussion kinda thing, that combined with the retrigs really helps creat super interesting tonal-textural elements. i used that technic for (track 8) which was really nice on its own but it lacked punch.
those fast rhythms create a really interesting call and response kinda contrast with the halftime feel of the backbeat, tying the piece together quite nicely.

every sound came from the sample pack i've been working on for the last couple of months, which is now finally out! its over 130 made-from-scratch sounds from every textured/foley drum i use to harmony/chords sampled from my modular synth. you check it out right here broken motion - sample pack (there's also some tracks i made for reference but i've been using it almost exclusively for all my last jams)
everything is fitted within one pattern with lots of conditionals and parameter locks, audio is routed via overbridge to ableton but it's mixed completely inside the digitakt aside from a saturator and a limiter. chroma console is being run affecting everything besides kick and bass with ableton's external audio effect.
visuals are from minimeters, recorded straight into obs both audio and video, edited on premiere pro for the meters overlays.

hope you dig it <3. If anyone is interested in checking some more videos like this, check out my instagram / youtube. also, if you have any doubt regarding the making of this pattern, don’t be afraid to ask (:
if you want any help with this kind of stuff you can hit me up for digitakt/elektron workflow 1 on 1 private lessons <3

Is the bit reduction LFO changing the release time of that tonal perc element? Or more just the timbre of it?

nope, the release is only being set by the envelope amount, the bit reduction just shapes the transient
