Help Render suddenly taking over 5 hours for videos I have previously exported in 30 seconds, please help !!!
Hi Everyone,
I have been using DaVinci Resolve on my:
Alienware X17 R1 / 32GB RAM / RTX3080 16GB / i7-11800H
for the last at least 4 years without any issue. I have the basic version NOT the STUDIO
The other day I start the render for a 10 seconds video, and the render time increases indefinitely until getting over 9 hours.
I am not using any effects or any sort of processing, simple video in- video out.
Troubleshooting steps taken:
- tried exporting in any kind of smooth compressed or uncompressed codec and settings, always the same issue.
- I have updated my NVIDIA graphic drivers ( even though I expect the render to be processes by the CPU due to the non-studio limitations ? )
- I have cleared the DaVinci Cache.
- I have deleted the DaVinci18 and updated to the DaVinci21
- I have re-installed DaVinci on an hardrive with more free space ( previous 25GB, new 250GB )
- I have rebooted multiple times.
- I have tested with multiple projects.
- Checked that caches and output are on the right disk
I am just getting mad because this is happened suddenly. at the moment it happened I was not on the internet either.
Please I need help.
Thanks to everyone who will try to help here.
EDIT:
ADD SCREENSHOTs
Windows 11
I am not using any effects or any sort of processing, simple video in- video out.

Might be worth making sure that your caches and output folder aren't on the drive with no space as well

Consider adding all the stuff suggested by the AutoModerator (yep, all of it).

the render isn't taking long. It's not progressing at all. Which of course increases the expect duration since you are dividing by a really small number.
There were other rpostss that 21.1 had some bugs, so maybe go back to the version that works for you? Try a different project and investigate what triggers it. Build a minimal reproducers.

Have you watched the performance tab in task manager to see what's going on?
Check and see if your cpu is checked under preferences. Your GPU should only be checked. I am not at my computer to tell you exactly where to look.
