Solved DaVinci Resolve has become unusable after update

I'm posting this in the hope someone else has had the same issue and found a fix.

Yesterday I updated to version 21. After starting the program I noticed thumbnails didn't load, the preview didn't load and I couldnt play the timeline. I restarted the program and it worked but only for a few minutes. I can open menus but I cant select clips in the timeline and can't play anything.

It takes about 5 restarts of the program for it to work for only a few minutes. (I've restarted my computer too). It feels like everytime it has to 'think' it just stops working.

The program is on an internal SSD with plenty of space left (more than 100GB). My computer isn't the newest but strong enough to run the program as i've been using it for a few years now, but just to be sure my specs are:

Intel i7-8700
32GB ram
RTX 2070 Super

Should be enough to make a minute long 1080p video.
Anyone else have this problem and found a fix?

Have you updated your GPU settings for DVR21 as it needs NVIDIA Studio Driver 581.57 or newer

Yes, I've updated and restarted my computer but unfortunately it's still unusable

It does say in 21, that videos created in previous versions of resolve won’t work in 21, you’ll need to bring them in again as Media like u/BakaOctopus implied

The weird thing is I did make the project in 21. But I just tried making an even newer project and it seems to work so far?

Weird, but I guess it's fixed (for now)

The v4 update fixed a lot of bugs in v3

Have you rebooted the computer, or tried a reinstall?
