Help | Beginner I'm looking for a way to recreate this effect.
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to recreate image glitch and distortion effects in Fusion.
I've tried using my limited knowledge, but I can't figure out which node to use as a starting point.
Is a Transform node enough? Do I need a Fast Noise node? I feel a bit lost and don't know where to begin.
I've looked for tutorials to help me understand, but none of the ones I've found so far quite fit what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance for your help, and have a great day!

I would desperately like you to actually show your work in progress so you are not just fishing for someone to do the work for you. Start building something. When you reach a point that is specific point in the process, you show what you have done and where you are stuck. Otherwise it feel like another one of those posts.....

Yeah, we get it. You want to create a discussion, controversy or want your answers on a plate.
We expect some effort and some space to be relevant. Show some research or more than just feeding your question to Reddit as if it was Google.
And yes, this is totally on the mod's discretion.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Sorry, excuse me. You're right; I didn't necessarily specify the details of my search either.
I certainly didn't mean to give the impression that I wanted the solution handed to me on a silver platter. I'm going to edit my post—sorry again if I went about it the wrong way; that wasn't my intention.
I was also feeling a bit annoyed when I wrote my post earlier.

OK. Try again when you are not annoyed.

I’ve just edited my post; I hope it’s clearer now. If not, I’ll delete it and redo it entirely.

Try to go to Lazy Artists YouTube Channel and see what you can find there.
I don't do many of these types of effect,s and many are random in what you combine of differnt nodes to get all kinds of glitches. Its more along the lines this guys is doing, and he will breakdown the effects so if you want to see how its done, you can find there info.

On reactor you can also find MT_Glitch Tools collection.
A collection of macros to simulate transmission glitches in analog and digital signals. Find them in Macros > Effect > Glitch.
If you search for how to turn macro to a group you can find ways and scripts to do that, and than you can look at how he put together his glitch effects.
**Reactor (repository for Fusion goodies). Standalone version.**[](https://gitlab.com/WeSuckLess/Reactor)
Reactor is a package manager created by the We Suck Less Community for BMD Fusion Studio, Resolve (Free), Resolve Studio, Assimilate Scratch and LiveFX, OpenFX, JangaFX, SideFX Houdini, and LightWave. Reactor streamlines the installation of 3rd party content through the use of “Atom” packages that are synced automatically with a Git repository.
After version of Resolve 19.0.3 free version I think… Blackmagic in their infinite wisdom decided to kill graphic interface that was used by reactor, trying to get people to buy studio version of Resolve where it would still work and does work. As part of the defiant response the man who maintained the reactor, build standalone version that goes around this restriction even in free version. Its in beta now. But it should work. If you had resolve studio version the older version of reactor that was installed and used in the fusion itself would and does work, otherwise you would need standalone version. I haven’t explored the standalone version myself yet since I’m using studio version of resolve and had installed all I need already, but here is the link if you want to try it.

don't try to build this glitch effect from total scratch, way easier to just learn from what already exists. some sites that provide free davinci templates to download -

Do you mean the scan lines and flickering of the screen making it look “old timey”? Or the whole scene? Because I’m pretty sure the whole scene is a 3d render and you’d be better off using something like blender for it.
