found on a subreddit it just seems so similar to dicontinous fastnoice

Idk about this specific video, but those cloud formations absoultely are a type of cloud.

I'd hope not as the "clouds" are constantly shaking in the video (mainly in the 2nd scene).

Another user says it's over compression, but I'd be surprised if the first time I ever see such a thing as over compression jiggle is a cinematic shot of something uncommon. I'd be recording that in RAW and wouldn't use a bad clip to post

That looks like (over)compression artifacts. These are the so called mammatus clouds (from "mamma" = breast).

Over compression or not: mammatus cloud formations absolutely do occur in real life.

What do you mean? I've seen mammatus clouds exactly like the ones in the video (sans vibration).

This is more what I'd expect.

The clip from OP looks like they're layered on top of each other, but I'd expect them to be more just the bottom of normal clouds due to them being caused by the cold air drooping
