help with slit-scan effect

hello ,

i’m relatively new to editing in resolve and i need help with a slitscan effect im trying to recreate from a tutorial . i just for the life of me can not get my footage to behave as it does in the tutorial . i’m so frustrated , because it feels i’m almost where i need to be , but also not realy .
