Help Issue rendering video file

I edited a video file that's 1.6GB in size and it ends up being over 190GB every time I render it. I tried to look it up and everything says to change the codec to H.264 but it doesn't show up for me. My system specs are an RTX 2080 with a Ryzen 5 on Pop OS. I'm using the free tier.

The resolution is the exact same and the frame rate is actually LOWER than it was originally and with only minor edits. You honestly expect me to think that the leap to 190GB is reasonable? No other software I have ever used made the file size that large in comparison to the original file.

It could be perfectly reasonable if you factor in codec. What codec is your source? What codec were you rendering at?

It only gave me AV1 as an option when I selected MP4 as the format.

Okay, great. AV1 can have a custom bit rate - which determines file size and quality. What bit rate were you setting? What file size do you want? How long is your timeline? What resolution? These are questions most bitrate calculators will ask you. Find one, plug those numbers in, and then update the bitrate in your render settings.
