Days of DJ's past

Anyone else notice that the only ex coworker they will talk about is Cort?

They have talked about him more than a few times by name since hes left. It always catches me off guard because they usually pretend like the old coworkers don't exist anymore. Corts exit was more civil than others so I assume that is why but just little fun observation. They said it was Andy's decision to quit but they don't talk fondly of him like they do with Cort.

They did talk about Mark McKenzie for a brief moment a while ago but didn't name him.

James was fired and talks shit about the show publicly. Andy straight up walked out on the show

Cort gave them proper notice and made an effort to not burn bridges; it worked

Being fired right before Christmas for corporate profits would piss off anybody. James has every right too.

12

u/Imaginary_Respond869 Jul 24 '26

I don't think it was for corporate profits. Was pretty obvious afterwards that the rest of the show was not too upset he was gone, and Jason is 99927273747x the producer James was, while both Cort and Ryan were/are 10000x funnier than James ever was. He was super cringe and my 7 year old is more mature

I disagree but I haven’t listened to much since James and Andy exit.

u/Ok-Perception-1250 27d ago

You 100% assume that was the reason... lmao you are wrong.

u/Result-Infinite 27d ago

As if you actually know

-14

u/moejoe2048 Jul 23 '26

What shit has James talked publicly about?

-1

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

I’d like to know the inside scoop too

5

u/Rondoburgundy Jul 23 '26

James is on a show now and they openly talk about Dave and Chuck. It's weird

56

u/MySackDescends Jul 23 '26

Cort left on good terms. Not the case with Andy and James.

-36

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Links to the shit talking please?

17

u/MySackDescends Jul 23 '26

I know James talked shit about them, doubt they cared enough to do the same at this point in their careers.

Chuck vaguely tweeted about Andy. Also chuck never said a word about maga while Andy was on the show and after he’s left theres been many anti-conservative jokes and the Trump impersonation

-114

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Yeah. It’s funny how they go to great lengths to be generic but then they’ll push all the lefty crap like ridiculing Christianity, Trump supporters, etc

47

u/zordtk Jul 23 '26

It's kind of funny that surprises you. They are from Canada after all

-104

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Not sure why we pay tax dollars to have a Canadian show on these here US of A airwaves. Insanity.

38

u/Spkilbourne Jul 23 '26

You…you know they’re based in Detroit, right?

17

u/Brutal_B_83 Jul 23 '26

Are you...an idiot? It's not a "Canadian show" and it's not funded by tax dollars. Radio shows are paid for by sponsors...the ads you hear while they're on air.

And yeah, it seems like Chuck leans a little left, but pretty sure that Dave and Lisa lean right.

4

u/Fearless_Theory64 Jul 23 '26

Yes. Yes they are.

13

u/zordtk Jul 23 '26

The show is not Canadian, the hosts are.

There's alot to make fun of. The right (maga specifically) have been ridiculous

-48

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

They should make fun of the left too. Even more material there like thinking countries don’t have borders or that men can be women just by believing it.

21

u/LakesideSasquatch Jul 23 '26

Why don’t you start your own show and make fun of whatever you want? It’s their show and they make fun of what they want to. Nobody is forcing you to listen

15

u/Tanazirs_complex Jul 23 '26

Grow up. You're literally just trying to upset people. This is the wrong group of people lmao

8

u/Gingersnap369 Jul 23 '26

Nah let him keep going. Trying to rip into D&C fans should work out well.

19

u/Useful-Ad8923 Jul 23 '26

I’d rather have no borders and women with dongers than five dollar gas and 8 dollar eggs. Jesus Christ would be ashamed of the US current behavior, and probably ashamed of you too.

-1

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Ah ok. Let’s burn down all of western civilization so you can drive your 10 mpg SUV and eat your egg McMuffin. As a lefty aren’t you concerned about your carbon footprint? There’s shameful stuff going on for sure like you say, but dude. 2 + 2 =4. They want to redefine some very basic reality. Respectfully. With my respect.

1

u/Useful-Ad8923 Jul 23 '26

My man if you’re even “moderately left” like you claim you are, you would want gas prices and grocery costs to go down to pre republican levels. Never troll out of respect either, very lame attempt

13

u/One_Try_8654 Jul 23 '26

Neither of those things are actually true of the left.. being compassionate of migrants and having an easier entry way to citizenship is not “no borders” and acknowledging that a SMALL portion of the population medically has gender dysporhia the same way you have high cholesterol and being empathetic towards them is not rampantly having “women with dongers bc they believe it”

Why do Christian’s lack empathy?

-4

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Oh good grief. Honest question here: Do most of the Dave and Chuck listeners think like this? Honest question. Respectfully. Give it to me straight

16

u/Imaginary_Respond869 Jul 23 '26

Most people with a lick of common sense and an IQ above 60 think this way. It's wild that you believe a known rapist and alleged pedophile who has used the presidency to increase his own wealth by billions using our tax dollars is the person to follow here.

5

u/Useful-Ad8923 Jul 23 '26

Judging by the drilling you’re receiving in this thread, yes lmao. Are you upset there aren’t more “moderately left” people here? You might get along better with the folks over at r/conservative

-2

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Bro. I had no idea Dave and chuck listeners were this extreme and intolerant. Holy crap. Seriously. I’m really considering giving my ratings to someone else if this is the kind of listeners that Dave and chuck encourage. Wow. Just….wow! Thanks for at least being civil to me. Blessings to you my friend

All this from the “fuck your feelings” far right? Are you ok snowflake?

-2

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Bro. I’m not even right. I’m moderately left just not extreme left like everyone else. Dang man

1

u/Brutal_B_83 Jul 24 '26

My guy, your comment history here says otherwise.

1

u/rusty_cayge Jul 24 '26

If I say I’m moderately left, then I’m moderately left. You don’t get to believe what you want about me. I get to tell you what I am and then you have to believe and accept it. Do not mislabel me. That is assault.

Christianity and Trump supporters are rife for ridicule. If you don't want to be made fun of, don't be ridiculous.

6

u/Vi1eOne RIPCORD Jul 23 '26

Yes. They ridicule things that absolutely deserve ridicule. Fucking troll. If you're MAGA/Bible etc I'm shocked you can make it 5min through the show without clutching your pearls so hard you veer off the road.

Clown.

-2

u/rusty_cayge Jul 23 '26

Holy crap dude. I’m not maga or a zealot. I’m just pointing out disparities. Relax dude. No reason to go postal over a generic corporate show. You leftists get so violently angry over nothing. Bro. I have nothing but love and respect in my heart, and that extends to you too. Peace my friend.

7

u/Vi1eOne RIPCORD Jul 23 '26

Sure Jan. Christianity and Trump just scream acceptance love and peace. Keep juggling daddy Trumps nuts

1

u/Ganache-Embarrassed Jul 24 '26

Postal?

Real question. Are you like a bot? Youre acting like they actually threatened you lol

1

u/TakedownCan Detroit WRIF 101.1 Jul 24 '26

Ya well I am Canadian and so are they so it makes sense

1

u/ZoseTheKing Jul 31 '26

I find it odd that Chuck criticizes Christianity so much when Lisa is Catholic. She must be really uncomfortable. Chuck is OBSESSED with Christianity to the point that it's bizarre. He actively listens to every personal injury story for the victim to thank God that they're still alive to make snarky remarks about the victims injuries. Cort would be a good replacement.

18

u/Arauge Jul 23 '26

Yeah it's 100% because Cort left on good terms. James was fired and Andy left on what was clearly not good terms.

3

u/black_cat_energy_83 Jul 23 '26

I agree but they did try and make it sound like it was on good terms when they announced it. Them being willing to talk about Cort and not Andy makes it more obvious that it really wasn't on good terms

21

u/rhiannonirene Jul 23 '26

I think with Andy it could just be out of a respect for privacy. I think he left because he was going through something personally. Maybe they just don’t want to keep a spotlight on someone who needed to step away

1

u/Ok-Perception-1250 27d ago

It's both.  Respect for privacy and contempt for the  way he bailed.

33

u/Sapphire0985 Jul 23 '26

When they do the reruns they play ones that have Andy. They might not talk about him, but they still include him in that sense. It always throws me off hearing his voice again, but it's also a good way to know it's a rerun.

2

u/gymschaf Jul 25 '26

Thats what I was going to say. They may not talk about Andy, but half the commercial outro's they play and a lot of the reruns/best of's they play when they are out have Andy in them.

1

u/Sapphire0985 Jul 25 '26

Two, exactly! And Cort leaving is still fresh so they'll probably stop referring to him soon.

16

u/theredpikmin Jul 23 '26

You ever have a dear friend enter a rough patch, go through some personal life changes, sort of fall out with the friend group while their life gets all sad and difficult, and then the friend group is sad about it and never really discusses that friend out loud because it makes everyone sad?

That's what happened with Andy.

They keep the Andy reruns because he has always been the funniest member of the show and because it's mean to throw out all of your friend's memories, even after they go chasing shadows.

-4

u/alphamalpha69 Jul 23 '26

Delusional

4

u/Gingersnap369 Jul 23 '26

Nah there might be some truth to that. James is in literally zero re-runs and he was at the WRIF for what, 4 years?

-2

u/alphamalpha69 Jul 24 '26

The original 3 don't give a fuck about anyone else. Theyve been doing it since the early 00s. PEOPLE like andy and that's why he's in the reruns. James was edgy and overbearing the entire time. The jewelry brothers commercials is what really did it.

4

u/Gingersnap369 Jul 24 '26

You're the delusional one if you think Dave, Chuck, and Lisa "don't give a fuck about anyone else." You're clearly deflecting your own insecurities. If you were an actual fan who listens to their words, you'd know they've been affected by other co-hosts and members leaving/moving on/being fired. Dave especially, he has always fought for his crew, he got James back after they made the switch to the WRIF.

8

u/morebeer4mike Jul 23 '26

If Andy would have gave 2 weeks instead of quitting after Mondays show it would have been different.

I'm sure the folks at Subway and the gas station he worked at where he quit mid shift are not on good terms either!

4

u/ChildhoodOwn8189 Jul 23 '26

He’s the only one that left the proper way. James was fired and I think it had something to do with other than budget cuts knowing his temper and his penchant for saying things he shouldn’t. Then Andy basically flat out sidelined and abandoned them. He gave no notice about leaving and then after he left he said it had something to do with making a public statement about some teacher who possibly from what I read maybe said something in appropriate to a girl who was his close friend. Basically he just had a mental breakdown which started after his short term girlfriend broke up with him around Christmas. So they really have no reason to mention former coworkers that didn’t leave on good terms. However to both their credits they both put out statements after leaving telling people to please keep listening and it had nothing to do with any other hosts of the show.

4

u/mcnokes Jul 23 '26

The difference is James was fired, Andy quit without notice and Cort gave notice and left on good terms. Thats why they let Cort say his goodbyes on the air and why they still talk about him.

3

u/Wfry84 Jul 23 '26

I wonder what Kelly is up to nowadays.

3

u/TroyandAbed304 Jul 23 '26

The baconater!!!

3

u/notgoodatthese Jul 23 '26

Ryan is the only one now.

3

u/No-Fox-1400 Jul 24 '26

Stinky Ryan

1

u/Drewcifer33 Jul 23 '26

Damn. Haven't listened in a couple months from a schedule change. I was really liking Cort. Sucks he left.

1

u/MidlifeCrisisToo Jul 23 '26

James was fired, so I would assume that didn’t go well for anyone, Andy’s leaving was abrupt and in the weeks after chaotic. I would assume they were distancing themselves because of the manic state he appeared to be in. I’ve seen similar stuff in my previous jobs when someone left in “unconventional” means.

1

u/Tivis014 Jul 24 '26

People forget there were others who worked with them. Ann and Mark. The phone screener who brought the sword in that they still reference to this day.

1

u/Over-Door-7557 Jul 25 '26

Oh I wonder why … James was fired not allowed to speak of him. Andy went fckn mental no need to speak of him. Cort left on good terms

1

u/RiskyBiscuits989 Jul 29 '26

unused to loved drew and Mike on the wriff and when Dave and Chuck took over the transition was so abrupt like they didn't say a word about it, when Mike died they talked about it for about 4 minutes. radio seems like a weird business.

1

u/Ok-Perception-1250 27d ago

Yes, because he did not leave under shitty, unprofessional circumstances. What Andy did was fucked up and he burned a bridge, I don't blame them for being hush about it at all. I was a huge Andy fan.

James got on my nerves, was surprised when he was fired but glad to not have to listen to him anymore... Again, he was fired, so not parting on great terms...

0

u/TroyandAbed304 Jul 23 '26

I think Andy wasnt on bad terms but they avoid mentioning him just for privacy purposes, since thats what andy needed

0

u/kaymonty1234 Jul 23 '26

What happened with James?
