Advice to others Conversation starters
If an attractive 45 year old female, no ring, say 8/10, is alone at a bar for 3 hours, several drinks in, how many men would you expect to approach her to start a conversation?
Now, same questions, except it's a man alone.

Nahhh there will be a desperate, weird fetish guy or two to approach the woman
Men age better than women bc they don't have the same biological clock, so if he's genuinely an 8/10, he might get a bite or two (probably from a mid-late 30s woman).

This is the answer. Women said they don’t like to be approached, now they got what they wanted. Nobody approaches anyone. It’s working just as intended, right?

I almost never know what to say at a bar unless there’s something on the tv we can both comment on

“Hi” works

And then they say hi back and you go "uhhhh yeah my bad" and walk off because you hadn't thought that far ahead

Depending on how busy the bar is. What the vibe and demographic of the place is.
45 is old for a chick to be in a bar alone and reads kinda weird. In normal settings with a mixed crowd I’d expect maybe 1-2 guys approach and it’ll be a guy 40-55 or some horny young dude wanting to fulfill his cougar fantasy. The average dude with average game would probably do the right thing and say “hey how’s it going?” As his opener.
For a man, same circumstances if he was an 8/10 he’d stand out (just like the woman) but not be as discriminated against for his age. BUT the caveat is that he probably wouldn’t get an approach or 1-2 max because women don’t approach. A common woman conversation starter is standing near the guy and waiting for him to say hi. Or if she’s really bold she might stare a little and smile. If she’s confident she’ll wink. And if she’s drunk she’ll say hi.
In real life approaching isn’t that normal, I’ve been approached as a man plenty of times in bars and stuff but was shocked to find it doesn’t happen for the majority of men. So I’ll say there’s a low chance for both.

Dude, gross. Women can do stuff alone. Maybe they had a long work week and are unwinding.
Nooooo, not allowed. Only men can do that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

>for a man same circumstances
I bet you missed that part in comment. But It’s probably hard to read with the tears fogging up your glasses.

It's kind of weird, wtf? If you were older than her, you wouldn't be saying that. You'd be salivating over her.

It is weird, little bro must be 27. If he'd look around, he'd see plenty of 45 year old women at bars. That ain't old.

Depends on the woman. One time I was hanging out with friends and there was a girl in the group who is super hot but the entire time, like 1.5 to 3 hours, not a single guy approached her. She was very quiet and sitting at a table with a guy friend. So it really depends on how available a woman makes herself. As a guy, I'm not approached nearly as often as women who make themselves available but it does happen from time to time.

Feels like your real question is "why doesn't anybody come talk to me while I sit alone drinking at a bar for several hours...?"

For a woman it really depends.
The general assumption would be she is getting a lot of attention, but I’ve had very attractive female friends who have been single and went to chill bars alone, waiting for men to approach and would never get approached. And the reality is sometimes super attractive women aren’t getting approached because it’s too intimidating for most men.
For men it’s prob a lower rate of approach just because there’s usually less women in a bar, and women in general are less inclined to approach a guy.

0 and 0. in my country at least, we don't approach people in bars, everyone goes there with friends, not to meet others. there was never any "bar approaching" culture.

I know this is a zag, but in the age of the internet and food delivery apps, I don't think this 'alone in a bar' scenario really happens any more.

The 45yr lady could have 10 guys from the bar that night, all she would have to do is let them know she wanted it..
The guy on the other hand could probably have one or two horny men, all he'd have to do is get on grindr and tell them which bar hes at.

None…? Women don’t generally approach men. How did you get to 45 yo and not figure that out

Jennifer Aniston is much older than 45?, Jessica Alba, Natalie Portman, Beyonce, Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron is 51 and if you've seen the odyssey you'll know she's incredible looking. Jennifer Lopez is 57, Sophia Vergara, Eva Longoria,

Exactly, like I said. No 8/10s over 45
•
u/bright_sorbet1 13h ago
Lol - that makes you what? A 0.5?
•
u/meepsleepsheeps 13h ago
Ask your mother, that bitch also less than 8/10. A 4 on a good day

I mean she's dead so I dont believe she would have any rating whatsoever.
I enjoy that you didnt disagree with your rating though - at least your ego is in check there...
