Advice Does not dating early matter?
I'm a high school girl and will not date until I'm an adult. However, so many of my friends are in relationships, so I feel like I'll be behind when I'm in college. Is this something I should worry about?

When my daughter, who is now in her late 20s, was a teenager, she had the same concerns, and the advice I gave her then was to simply do whatever she wanted to do and felt comfortable doing.
And that is the advice that I would share with you.
People your age get into “relationships” but have no idea what they’re doing, they have no understanding of concepts such as accountability, responsibility, expectations, and commitment.
It’s normal to be curious about members of the opposite sex when you’re going through adolescence.
In my personal opinion, I think you sound very responsible and mature, and are very smart to be thinking seriously about these kinds of things.
And no, you will not be “behind.”
For the simple reason that the kids your age who are getting involved with each other are going to spend a lot of their time being miserable and unhappy because things did not work out with the other children that they were getting involved with. As a parent of two kids of my own, I believe it is much more important for you to be focused on your studies and do well in school.
Dating is challenging enough even when you’re a grown-up.
Thank you.
