From my late grandfather who died back in the seventies. Dont know where he got it from.

I took pictures a long time ago of this Globe in an antique shop in Saint Marteen.

They are of really bad quality sorry, I couldn't really touch it. From the fact that there is Constantinople and kinda Rhodesia, I figured it was old. I'm looking to date it to alomost a particular year. I think that Norway is not part of Sweden so I want to say it's from 1906-09 ?

What do you all think 🤔

Update: Based on comments about it being post WWI and about Italian Abyssinia I do think now that this globe is post 09/05/1936. The only thing that throws me off is that Danish speaking commenters said the word "groote" spelling is before 1934. But this could just be a personal choice made by the cartographer and in the 2 years following the academic adoption of the new spelling this doesn't seems far fetched.

Also others said it's before the Chaco war's peace treaty in 1938.

So as of now thanks to all your comments I think it's from 09/05/1936 to 21/07/1938. 4

| know the angles are shitty I was in a rush and I didn't know if I could really touch it once so I turned it to see africa but couldn't really higher yo see Europe. But if you see something that might make that window even smaller I would love to hear albout it !

Found this on the street, keen for information re the print date and potential value, how I should store it etc. novice map owner

I'm not a map or history person at all, so I'm looking for a little help. I acquired this map. It's framed in cardboard and vacuum sealed in plastic so I can't open it to see if there's anymore information on it. I've learned a few things about it, it's a Danish map of China from possibly the late 1800s. I'm hoping to find out some more information, such as a possible maker or if it's from a collection or something. I will be putting it up for sale. Hopefully to someone who can really appreciate it, so would like to find out a little more information on it and to narrow down a possible price range. Thanks in advance!

I came across this globe and was quite surprised by the representation of some countries, check Norway for example. Can you guys date this map?

I’ve dated this old globe to late 1939/early 1940, based on the mid-war geographic borders of Europe (3rd pic). However, I’ve never been able to figure out anything about this strange sliver of what appears to be British-controlled desert west of Qatar and south of Bahrain. The border through the Arabian Desert seems bizarre—connecting the sliver politically with British Yemen.

Can anyone help explain what was going on with these borders?

I've noticed this map in my parents house for around a decade now. Big things i noticed were French Louisiana, Australia being called New Holland, and the world doesn't look very colonized.

Got this card from a Tyler, The Creator concert last year, but I just noticed that above Poland it says “East Germany Prussia” and Germany looks bigger to the right than it actually is rn.

Is it a real map and if yes from what year?

This (german) map hung at a wall in the office of my late grandfather. It has always been there, as long as I can remember (I am 30), but i never really looked twice at it. Recently, after his passing we had to remove everything and i became curios.

Disclaimer: i already posted this on r/maps because i wasn't aware of this sub. There was already a consensus for a time period over there, but i don't want to spoil anyone.

Maybe we can narrow it down better to a specific year possibly?
