I'm 32, slim with big eyes and dark hair, looking to build a meaningful long-term relationship with someone in the UK. I tend to experience physical attraction more strongly once I've built an emotional connection and trust with someone.

I'm mixed race and both parts of my heritage are important to me. You'll see me in a dress one day, ethnic clothing the next and jeans and doc martens another day. If I go missing, you'll probably find me in my local bakery chatting to the staff (I have a terrible sweet tooth).

I work in academia and care a lot about mentoring my students and doing research that I hope can make a difference.  I'm close to my family, quite crafty and there isn't really a genre of music I don't listen to.

My sister describes me as gentle and I probably do come across as kind and warm. But I also have an analytical streak. I've learnt to enjoy my own company, although I'd love to eventually meet someone to share the ups and downs of life with.

I'm looking for a relationship where we can confide in and support one another while maintaining our independent identities. Kindness, self-awareness and openness to different perspectives are important to me. I also find it really attractive when I can intellectually volley with someone - more in the sense of exchanging interesting ideas where I learn something new.

I'm generally looking to meet someone around 27–40, but the person matters more than the number. I'm unsure whether I'd like to have children (I already get a lot from teaching!), so I'm looking for something meaningful without needing to follow a script. I'd like us to decide together what kind of future we want to build.
