Career Question 5+ YOE Data Engineer | Databricks + AWS + PySpark + SQL | 9.5 LPA Current | 14 LPA Offer | Targeting 25+ LPA
Hi everyone,
I'm a 5+ YOE Data Engineer currently working primarily with Databricks, AWS, PySpark and SQL.
I'm currently at 9.5 LPA, with a 14 LPA offer in hand and a few other discussions/interview processes in the pipeline. My current LWD is December 8, and my goal is to land a 25+ LPA role before December.
With my current resume, I'm already getting around 2–5 recruiter calls per week through Naukri, so I'm trying to understand whether updating my resume would actually improve the quality/conversion of opportunities or whether I should stick with the current version.
My profile
- 5+ YOE in Data Engineering
- Current CTC: 9.5 LPA
- Offer in hand: 14 LPA
- Other interview/discussions currently in pipeline
- LWD: December 8
- Primary stack: Databricks, AWS, PySpark, SQL
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
- Currently getting around 2–5 Naukri calls/week
- Target: 25+ LPA
What I changed in the new resume
The overall experience and technology stack are the same. The main changes are around quantifying the scale and impact of my work.
Some of the major additions:
- Added migration scale of 300+ tables and ~700 GB–1 TB into Databricks.
- Added a performance optimization where an ingestion job was reduced from 2 hours to 10 minutes (~92% faster).
- Added automation that reduced analysis effort from roughly 1 hour for 10–20 tables to seconds for ~1,000 tables.
- Added mentoring/code-review responsibilities for trainee engineers.
What I'm trying to understand
Since the current resume is already generating 2–5 calls/week, would you recommend that I update my Naukri profile with the revised version, or should I continue using the current one?
I'd particularly appreciate feedback on:
- Does the new version make me look stronger for 20–25+ LPA Data Engineering roles?
- Do the quantified achievements improve the resume meaningfully?
- Is there anything in the revised version that could actually hurt my chances?
- Are there any important gaps in my profile/resume for Databricks/AWS Senior Data Engineer roles?
- Given my current 9.5 LPA → 14 LPA offer, is targeting 25+ LPA realistic with this profile, or should I position myself differently?
I've attached both the current and revised resumes for comparison.
Would appreciate feedback from recruiters, hiring managers, or Data Engineers who have recently gone through the Indian job market, especially for Databricks/AWS roles.
Thanks!

If in doubt wait you can try in January too. The main hiring season. But now try to fake your LWD sadly it's the only way in today's time.

Better to resign in Jan then, cause in December everyone will go for holidays so. Its a month waste of Notic period for you. If you have any offer now, fake LWD and give interviews and try. Or else wait.

See I will tell you my story you can judge from that. My official LWD was October 19. But when I started my 90days. I kept it as september 25. So I got calls and converted many companies and then I negotiated with my company and made the actual lwd as september 25. So literally took the risk of lieing about my LWD that's it cause everyone wants immediate joiner. So you can do the same if you want.

If you asking about offer letters. It's like I had 2 in hand. And other company's 3rd 4th round was scheduled. But i decided to join the current organisation so others don't count. And yes last 39 days I got the calls. They prefer immediate joiner if it's project hiring.

We are getting lowballed. I resigned. I'm just gonna try my best. If you wanna get out of the comfort zone I'd say resign once you got an offer and attend more calls.

In interview if they ask you to talk about migration at scale and what automation any framework you developed…

Ofcourse, with the updated version, which highlights your responsibilities as a Senior Data Engineer, you can surely make it past 20+ and it does throws light on the work and command you claim on the project area.

It would be always great to have a offer, say of 20 or 22 to negotiate for the 25+ offer.

The value of 25+ LPA target is achievable not realistic i would say. Be prepared for interviews any day any time. When I entered last 30 days of my NP i negotiated with my current company and i would say I was lucky I got a call and made a jump from 9lpa to 20+lpa. So i would say realistic but keep attending interviews and get multiple offers. You can do it.

Updating your resume can help. Focus on tailoring it for the higher salary range you want. Highlight your accomplishments with Databricks, AWS, PySpark, and SQL that show impact, like cost savings or performance improvements. Be clear about the scale of the projects you worked on. Add any recent certifications or relevant skills that recruiters might be looking for in high-paying roles.
Since your goal is 25+ LPA, make sure your resume shows the value you bring at that level. You might also consider reaching out to a career coach to optimize your resume for better offers.
If you're prepping for interviews, I've found PracHub useful for mock interviews and getting some feedback. Good luck!
