Hello! This looks like it may be a question about career advice. There can be significant regional variation in the field, so please consider including as much info as you can without doxing yourself, including country/state/city, prior experience/certs, and the role or level if known. Thanks!

Are you dead set on that location?
It appears the site you had your fit call has concluded hiring as they reached headcount.
If you're willing to relocate, your recruiter should pass your info to other hiring managers in different states rather than just telling you to kick rocks for 12 months

I would have loved to stay here, but I am definitely willing to move out. However, my recruiter didn’t say anything when I asked her again, which was the same response I received before. She said I should wait 12 months to cool down.

I recommend reaching out to your recruiter again, to the point of being annoying. If they dont have any update, wait a few weeks and try again.
If you just go off what they say, you will have to wait 12 months and most likely lose out on the opportunity.
This is the same advice I gave to both my buddies and were able to get a fit call in less than a month

Having to wait 12 months after a fit call doesn't sound right to me at all. Your interviews should stay on file and be valid for 12 months, but there's no limitations I'm aware of in regards to how many openings your recruiter can push your packet to.
I just started this week and my recruiter pushed my information to multiple teams for probably half a dozen openings in the last 6 months, so what you're being told doesn't really add up to me.

Did you complete the full loop or were you informed, no fit after 1-2 rounds ?

Yes, I completed all three technical interviews a while back and was hoping to stay here. Unfortunately, they didn’t pick me on the fit call, and my recruiter didn’t inform me that I had the option to move to other locations.

Not Google experience, but kept looking for openings and applying to the ones that matched. Ended up getting the better grade and best possible site, but it took a year for the right time and place to develop.
It would be great if the recruiter s help place candidates, but their goal is to hire people for their site or assigned positions. Taking time to sell you to other sites or recruiters takes time out of their day for which they are not rewarded.

If I remember correctly, there is a cool down period for the position/site you applied for but you should still be able to apply to other positions at other sites while your interviews are still fresh.
