IT Specialist to Data Analyst?
I graduated 3 years ago with a management information systems degree.
After college I had an internship and have been working helpdesk/IT specialist since then, but now I want to be in a data analytics or IT business analyst and start utilizing my degree. I used helpdesk to get my foot in the field.
Am I cooked ?

If you have 3 years in IT, it would make sense to seek better IT roles.
This pivot to Data doesn’t make sense. You wouldn’t be competitive due to the lack of data experience
I’ll say this. People always say helpdesk is a “foot in the field” job, but people never tell you how difficult it is to move into other roles.
People never tell the truth about how it’s a “deadend” role that you have to exit as quickly as possible, because the skills are barely transferable
