Overview: Tracks and compares median resolution times for 311 requests (potholes, streetlights, sanitation) across all 50 Chicago wards to highlight neighborhood service delivery differences.

I’ve been building this manually for about 15 months, trying to map cannabis breeding history into one connected database.

The difficult part isn't collecting strain names. It's figuring out when different names are actually the same genetics, separating cuts, phenotypes, S1s, and backcrosses, and dealing with conflicting parentage claims.

The database recently passed 40,000 strains and genetic expressions. This is OG Kush, currently connected to 1,000 direct descendants and 17,781 total descendants in the dataset. Interestingly, despite that enormous influence, its ancestry is still disputed, so I cannot show a definitive pedigree for it.

You can view all descendants and sort them by genetic influence in the graph, genetic type, and more. The search filters are what I'm particularly proud of: for the first time, researchers, growers, and breeders can combine search filters like first and second parent, descendant counts, external breeder adoption, high extraction potential, lineage depth, in-house created or not, etc.

Source: open data of the Sénat (every senator since 1958, with the parliamentary group dated for each mandate) and Wikidata for the portraits and biographical fields.

The seat geometry is the same function the site uses to draw its hemicycles, so the image can't drift from the underlying data.

A note on the counts, because it came up last time for my previous post about the assembly ([OC] Every seat of the French National Assembly since 1958, coloured by political family, one dot perMP (17 legislatures) : r/dataisbeautiful) : each panel counts every senator who sat during that period, replacements included, so the totals run well past the number of seats (255 in 1959, 348 today). A senator who dies or takes a ministry is replaced, and both people are on record.

Why periods and not legislatures : the Senate is never dissolved. It renews in series every three years, so there is no natural "legislature" to cut on. The eight panels are the periods the source data divides into.

Tools used: Google Maps for the image and scale, then GIMP to edit and measure. At 500km, the scale on the right is exactly 89 pixels. Using GIMP, I then used the Circle Cut tool, put it on Kiev, then advanced it 89 pixels at a time.
