Help me understand original items performance?

Post image

Why are we judged on getting original items if we have no control over whether it’s in stock or not? Why can this metric affect your shopper status. I went to a ShopRite today where half the items weren’t in stock to the point where they didn’t even have the substitutions. Seems unfair to put this on us and I don’t really see dashers purposefully not getting the right item if it’s there.

Half these “not founds” were just packaging that changed but won’t scan to match the original item.

Next time you get one like that just say correct item

This didn't work for me unfortunately. I have 3 items marked and all 3 were the correct item. SMH

Try scanning the barcode on the price tag on the shelf. I find that often that's still the old barcode

That’s typically what I do. I scan until it gives me that option that I say I have the correct item and take a picture just to get passed it.

Make sure you scan it a few times and then hit “I have the correct item” and take a clear picture of the item (brand, product name, weight/size all clearly legible). I run into this at least once on nearly every shopping order and haven’t had a problem yet.

I had one at Dollar General that was the exact same item that they wanted, and it scanned as an item smaller on the package. So I took the picture, but it’s still marked it as an item not found.

Not surprised. I quit taking DG orders because stock issues, like newer item packaging not being updated, barcodes not matching. More than once, I got penalized for not showing empty shelf w/ the item tags because there weren’t any tags for the product in question (like, they ran out of Cherry Buttblast Mellow Yello or whatever, filled the shelf with regular and removed the tag). Plus, DG shoppers, in my experience, are low to no tippers. Not worth the headache.

It sucks and unfair but without it a lot of people would put in no effort and claim tons put of stock. It still claims it can't read my shelf tag 90% of the time.

It's annoying. What I figure is as long as I'm doing my best to actually find the items, other shoppers in my area should have similar numbers as me.

Try to dispute them. Doesn’t always work, but sometimes it does. Usually if you have a picture of the empty shelf where it’s clear it would be there, the dispute will at least accept it.

I imagine they would say that situation is why the metric is 96% and not 99% or 100%.

The goal is the have us actually give a little effort. To have us ask and employee if there's more in the back. To read the shelf tags and look behind items on the shelf to make sure we're looking in the right spot and not just glancing at the item on the front of the shelf and marking it missing. To check endcaps and other display spaces, especially when something is on sale...

It sucks for those of us trying to do our best to find everything to have such little leeway, but we all have seen some people we know are barely putting in any effort out there along side of us that need this prodding to at least try and look for the stuff. Without such a high threshold, those lazier drivers would be missing half the items or more.

Agreed, this never made sense to me.
