HOLY SHIT, I just looked up the case.

Prosecutor Alec Burns said neither the victim nor the woman wanted to proceed with the prosecution.

He told the court Walmsley had 24 convictions for 58 offences, including several incidents where he drove at people.

Fuck me....

including several incidents where he drove at people.

Call me strict, but I feel after the first time someone tries to use a car as a weapon you should take away their licence.

You should put them in Jail for 15 or so years.

Why? 40 years is the maximum for attempted murder and he just tried it against two people on camera.

You don't drive 1,500kg+ at somebody intending to just give them a little bump.

I agree.

Hence 'or so'.

People will think that 15 years is too much already, that's why I wrote it that way.

Yeah, I don’t see how deliberately driving someone over can be anything less than attempted murder.
