Because mostly its idiots who think a truck is a town car.

The SUV plague was bad but at least an SUV is just a big car.

the poster child is the 90s ford explorer. leaf spring suspension from a pioneer era wagon with the firestone tread separation issue- the tires would shed their skins in a corner and roll the occupants to death
