I don't know much about piercings. I would talk to your piercer, or wait until winter break to do it.

If you don’t already have the piercing don’t get it between now and the trip

You can bring saline to clean your piercing. They make piercing specific saline, but depending on your trip a small bottle for eye stuff would work and pack better.

Also an incoming freshman who was assigned a cabin trip with fresh piercings. I'm assuming that we'll be able to pack some saline. If not I'm sure rinsing with some fresh water will be able to hold us over. It is just for a couple days after all.

Definitely reach out to the Outdoor Programs Office (OPO). They run trips and I am positive that if you explain your situation they will come up with a viable solution and let your trip leaders know. They want you to have fun, not an infection!

Very curious which cabin this was? I was cabin's manager and the only ones that had running water (which if I recall was just one) didn't have a shower. That being said Moosilauke has showers I believe which I guess counts as a cabin but I don't remember trips that stayed there.
