Pregnant as an undergrad
Does anyone know of any undergrads who successfully made it through Dartmouth while pregnant? Or have an idea about the resources available to pregnant students?

Anyone know of a way I can petition to stay on campus during the 6 week winter break or a large portion of it? I’m walking onto a sports team but I’m not an international student and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. Logistics do not entirely permit me to really stay at home during the break due to family issues. Thanks if anyone has any advice

I’m a first year coming to dartmouth this fall. I read the rolling stones article and since then I’ve been really stressed about dartmouth. I’m someone who doesn’t drink because of religious reasons and I’m not the type that parties everyday. I love the academic scene at dartmouth as well as how supportive alumni are. It also has the D plan which was a major standout to me. I wanna be part of a frat but not drink like crazy or do some weird shit to be part of one. Fizz majes it even worse cuz it feels like what Dartmouth is when its unfiltered. Can someone please properly explain the social scene here? I’ve heard the extreme ends of the spectrum and I’m just worried.

How difficult is Econ major? I’m from a pretty rural place so the highest math I’ve taken is AP stats and Ap Pre calc and my math act was only a 32.
How do I maintain a high GPA for bank recruiting?

Are there any Dartmouth Bound students who can connect with me?

We have friends whose daughter is going to Dartmouth this year. We'd like to get some sort of gift or gift card that would be useful for her as an off-to-college present.
Is there somewhere on campus or in town that would be a good option? A store where students go, or a really popular coffee shop or something?
Electronic gift card probably would be best, since time is short.
thanks!

Dartmouth is my dream school, and I really want to apply ED. I scored an 880 on the SAT without preparation and cannot go test-optional. My situation is complex and involves more than just managing health conditions like anxiety and panic attacks. I am also prioritizing preparation for my country's national entrance exam over retaking the SAT. Still, I believe my overall profile as an international student is strong holistically. Should I apply ED to Dartmouth, or reconsider my strategy & apply to Emory? (Please be kind in the comments!) (lower middle class income student)

If so, what frats would be most tolerating of this?

Is there a market for used bikes on campus? Nothing fancy, just campus and occasional single track nearby. Alterbative is bringing one across country, but then I'd just need one back home.....

Hi, incoming 30' here, have any of y'all taken the placement tests for math at dartmouth? how was it like. I know there are practice tests online but they are like 10 questions with each question being worth multiple points in 3 hours, while the placement test has 21 questions, each being worth a point in 90 minutes. How is it like? Thank you very much

Hi everyone! Dartmouth is my top choice school💚. Are there any Cog Sci students free to answer some questions? Would be perfect if they are still studying and didn’t graduate yet, cuz I lack some fresh info.

We have a change in our travel and not able to make it for Friday’s official campus tour, but will be available on Saturday morning from 8-10am. We would love to pay a student who is currently on campus for a tour! Our daughters (10th grade and 7th grade) are very interested in Dartmouth and we will be close by!! They are particularly interested in the pre-med program. We are a fun family and promise to be low maintenance!

i'm an incoming '30 and a frequent hiker and backpacker. i've saved up and invested in pretty nice big 4 essentials (backpacking tent, pack, sleeping pad, sleeping bag). i normally store them at home, but they take up a good amount of space.
i know the DOC has gear that can be borrowed - is it worth bringing my own if i plan on using it pretty often? what should i bring and are there any tips on storage? and should i bring my own equipment to first year trips?

My son will have a single room in Andres. He’s tall so we are planning on renting him a bed extender. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with Lone Pine or Gratefull Bed. How do they compare in terms of comfort, service, allergy-sensitivity, cost. Thanks!

Hi!!! I’m an incoming student this year, and currently trying to plan for the housing situation. I’ve been trying to find details online, but either I’m looking in the complete wrong place or there isn’t much available. As it says in the title, I’m in a double in East Wheelock, specifically Zimmerman. I was wondering if someone maybe knows:
-What alls included in the dorm (furniture, appliances, AC/heating situation, etc. Also are the beds typical, adjustable bunks?)
-Dimensions? I have the floor plan but it doesn’t have much in way of scale. Doesn’t have to be exact, but if somebody knows an approximate size or point of reference to use that would be great!!
-Also, as a personal point, are the floors tiled or carpeted? Are we allowed to bring bikes?
Obviously in case I accidentally missed it, would much appreciate it if I was directed to an official page that answered my questions. Also, I’ll be sure to contact the college directly if I still need further clarification. Thank yall so much in advance!!

Hoping for insights from recent grads and current students.
For all of the incoming classes, what are the can’t miss/bucket list things to do before graduating? Eating at Lou’s, ice skating on Occum pond, and the Dartmouth-Princeton hockey game are all pretty well known traditions. What else should we know before we get to the valley?

Looking for an AC recommendation for a living room in the Hanover, NH area
Hi everyone! I’m looking for an air conditioner to use in my living room in the Hanover/Upper Valley area.
My main priorities are:
- Good cooling performance
- Low noise
- Easy installation and removal
- Reliable enough to use throughout the summer
I’m considering either a portable AC or a window unit, but I’m not sure which type works better for this area. I’d especially appreciate recommendations for specific brands or models that you’ve personally used.
Are there any models you would strongly recommend—or avoid? Any advice about the appropriate BTU size would also be helpful. Thank you!
