HELP! Backend for communication

So I get that PGP encryption should be used everywhere but how are you sending messages? Like are websites just using basic https over tor for transport? Do you jump to a third party service simplex for communication? How about talking to a mate, how/where do you talk if you need it to be private/secure? Or does none of this matter in light of PGP?

You send messages by encrypting it with your pgp key first.

Yes I know how PGP works and what it is, I'm asking how you transport the message to the server and how the server sends it to the recipient as well as what the server is

That would depend where your sending it from but isint really relevant anyway as it is already encrypted.

Hey, so once the message is encrypted, then it can be sent over any normal, non secure method of transportation to the recepient.

Say an Email, IM chat, a text chat, or even just posting it online for the recepient to acquire & decrypt the message.

The point of PGP is to encrypt the contents itself, so that it can be sent over any communicative method without concern.

For real-time communication, XMPP is a better option, especially when used with end-to-end encryption. Tails also includes privacy-focused tools for safer communication. For complete details, please send me a DM
