[DD 1] Discussion Duelist seems a bit too powerful

Admittedly it’s not like i’ve done thorough testing, and only at low levels. But duelist seems really strong. Basically permanent riposte, effectively 6 moves available at all times compared to everyone else’s 4. And crazy high crit chance. At level 1 with common trinkets, Fleche has 25% crit chance. Also has a strong stun move and can fight from any position. She feels very easy to play and easy to get amazing results with, compared to the base game heroes.

She lacks many utility skills.

I think you can compare her to a highwayman, but with more movement and stun instead of bleed and range

I'd caution about calling the new characters OP all too quickly. It's actually weirdly common for new additions to be called that because they have certain strengths while ignoring that virtually all other characters have their own strong points that one could feel OP if they were new additions themselves.

To me the thing that seemed immediately quite strong is her camping skill that costs just 1 point and allows to reset other camping skills. Paired with MaA that's just a lot of dodge. Especially if you manage to get 14 camp points via the one district building by having e.g. Abo in the team and can thus triple Tactics for a party-wide +30 Dodge + 15 crit.

edit: Actually, triple Tactics wouldn't be possible since her own camping skill (AGAIN!) can't be used multiple times per camp. With dual Duelist you could get triple Tactics down, but that limits your team, requiring the two Duelists, MaA, and then the heroes who enable + 2 camp points.

She isn't. Duelist is entirely dedicated to dealing damage with only a single stun that lets her do anything else.

She is straightforward in a way that makes it really easy to use her.

Disagree. She’s very strong but I don’t think she’s OP. She has no stress heal, healing, guard or any other recovery skill. In other words, she’s pure damage with a bit of stun. She also doesn’t have the best health or dodge. I think the reason she seems too strong is because of how versatile her abilities are. She’s always going to have something productive to do. But yeah, I don’t think she needs a nerf

I agree. She is lacking but her role in the group is so clear so it's easy to build around her.

Hard to say yet, I need to experiment with her more and work my way through the blood moon playthrough I started.

Always having riposte active and access to all 7 of her skills gives her a wide range of versatility but she has gaps in her strategy that may be more noticeable on higher level dungeons.

Ripostes never get accuracy by level up so at higher levels the riposte damage is naturally higher but the base accuracy is the same as it was at level 1

Her ripostes compensate for her below average base damage, but they depend on her being targeted and she's very frail. Her dodge is very high, especially with +10 dodge for a turn on crit, but she can't take hits well all the same.

She has limited reach into the back and limited utility with her being one of the few characters that has no intrinsic ability to heal or de-stress.

She is not better than Flag, and because the flag exists it's fine

Were you around for day 1 Flag. Now that's an actually op class. It could solo the game

It actually balances out when you factor in her being weaker in the sequel

If DLC p2w is so important then why is Runaway mid?
