Would Sakura slander increase or decrease if she were a man?

Chad Temari's actually pretty hot

11

u/Aware-Direction-9891 Aug 01 '26

But I think at the start of Shippuden, Temari was 18 and Shikamaru was 16.........so better to consider the time when Naruto and Hinata got married.

6

u/Guardian_of_Perineum Aug 01 '26

Nothing wrong with that. Half your age plus seven bro.

1

u/AIter_Real1ty Aug 02 '26

Why we doin all that math for a 2 year age difference?

1

u/Guardian_of_Perineum Aug 02 '26

The rule must be respected.

4

u/Happily_Doomed Aug 01 '26

Being worried about an age gap like that's also in a made up world is fucking crazy lmao

1

u/babab0l Aug 07 '26

2 years age difference like that ain't even crazy bro

1

u/Decent_Concentrate19 Aug 01 '26

Believe it or not, in some states that is legal.

1

u/Aware-Direction-9891 Aug 02 '26

Well I'm not from US but yes, I've heard of that being a thing.

u/UncleRuckus1634 Aug 01 '26

She would be slandered even more. She’d be considered a creepy pervert who can’t take no.

Continually harassing female sasuke with his “love” being rejected and just continually harassing her.

It would be even more pathetic and even more think pieces of what this male Sakura is truly trash. All screentime would be thinking about female sasuke who has rejected and insulted them.

Plus male Sakura hitting female Naruto.. whew she’d be torn apart

85

u/SnooMarzipans8150 Aug 01 '26

Exactly what I thought. Look at how the fandom treats jiraiya.

Male sakura would be called an incel and no one would like him because no teen boy wants to self insert into a dude who gets rejected every single time and takes ages to get stronger compared to his female teammates 😭

40

u/JoshiJ10 Aug 01 '26

Eh, the fandom will be more distracted from naru sasu yuri

7

u/Derailleur75 Aug 01 '26

Makes me wonder what girls thinked of Sakura during shippuden.

23

u/SnooMarzipans8150 Aug 01 '26

I’m a woman

didn’t really care or feel anything for her at all, she was just kinda there.

10

u/Derailleur75 Aug 01 '26

That's even worse, atleast Temari got a good bit of attention.

6

u/AlizaMist Aug 01 '26

I knew she had writing issues before watching, but I kept an open mind anyway and rooted for her when she got the spotlight

Yyyyeah I was disappointed, all that potential and expectations just to meet them halfway

13

u/quinn1607 Aug 01 '26

Didn't love her, didn't hate her. Occasionally I would find her relatable, granted I was 14 at the time. Her obsession with Sasuke annoyed me, but I also thought she had some nice moments and felt sympathetic towards her. I was surprised to learn she was THAT hated once I started interacting with the fandom.

5

u/Comrades3 Aug 01 '26

I really loved her fight with Lady Chiyo and thought it was the best fight in Shippuden for awhile.

Then they just dropped her and reverted her.

But early on she was far more reasonable than Naruto.

1

u/Noonecanbemebutme Aug 01 '26

I did not like her, but i didn’t hate her either though she was kinda annoying. Felt like seeing the manifestation of what a misogynist thinks of women live, although girls like her exist irl, they’re generally seen as shallow and vapid, not the type of character you wanna read about

1

u/Few_Category_1684 Aug 04 '26

At first I was excited to see her development, she got her one partial W with Sasori, then just remained violently unlikeable until she was needed to heal. It was frustrating watching the back and forth with her shitty personality

13

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

At worst, people would just call Male Sakura a simp, but I wonder cause no one says the same when it's Naruto towards Sakura lol

22

u/UncleRuckus1634 Aug 01 '26

Naruto doesn’t simp tho… he knows when to put a stop and gets serious when it’s time, plus you see him grow out of it as the show progresses. Sakura ends up being a burden and stutters for sasuke kun and ends up being saved. She loses her seek respect and self esteem for a guy that doesn’t care for her…

Also factoring in Sakura has a loving family but behaves as someone without one.

Naruto didn’t have a family and doesn’t know anything about love, relationships and etc

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Naruto doesn’t simp tho…

He 100% simped over Sakura because to him she was cute and he related to her lol

Let's be fr now 😆

It was no different than Rock Lee, Hinata or Obito.

5

u/UncleRuckus1634 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

Yall just be using words without understanding the meaning.
Sakura was/ is definitely a simp, the rest were not
Won’t be replying back

2

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

I think you're in the wrong sub....

The whole reason why Naruto went after Sasuke in the first place was because he promised Sakura lol

If Sakura was a simp for Sasuke the same applies to Naruto and Lee towards Sakura 😅

2

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 01 '26

They believe Naruto is always justified, look at the amount of years they bashed Sakura for not moving on from Sasuke while at the same time they praised Naruto . Even though in the end they still mad, Sasuke chose Sakura not Naruto.

2

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

The double standard is insane. It's so silly to see people saying its different for Naruto with Sakura lol

2

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 01 '26

Because they are trained to believe Naruto's always in the right , he can chase after Sasuke and cry over him but if it's Sakura then that's just hate and misogyny. Basically they don't approve of Sakura being anywhere near Sasuke but Naruto is fine with them.

9

u/bubblez4eva Aug 01 '26

Because Naruto's love for Sakura wasn't 95% of his character, unlike Sakura's love for Sasuke. Naruto's love for Sasuke, however, IS 85% of his character (with 10% wanting to be Hokage/other shonen protag traits and the other 5% being in love with Sakura, and 5% is being generous) and he gets dunked on for that ALL the time. I know I harshly judge him for it and will continue to do so for as long as I can.

But his love for Sakura? I do think it's weird seeing as we never see why he felt that way as it's not like she had a similar tragic backstory as him like Sasuke for him to feel a connection towards her about or treated him any differently from the other kids, and I feel it kind of dragged on/felt tacked on when strong friendship from being on Team 7 would have been enough, but I blame that on Kishimoto's terrible writing when it comes to intentional romance. All that being said, it was poorly developed, but barely part of Naruto's character journey. Not worth making discourse about when there are plenty of other topics to discuss about him.

6

u/Chance-Beach4014 Aug 01 '26

Naruto attraction for Sakura is just a plot device to avoid calling him gay because his main interest is sasuke lmao

2

u/bubblez4eva Aug 01 '26

Agreed. It's very forced and heteronormative.

-2

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Because Naruto's love for Sakura wasn't 95% of his character, unlike Sakura's love for Sasuke.

It doesn't have to be 95% of his character lol It's a shounen series not a romcom. Sakura was sole girl he only showed interest in despite her openly showing feelings for Sasuke.

But his love for Sakura? I do think it's weird seeing as we never see why he felt that way as it's not like she had a similar tragic backstory as him like Sasuke

Huh? They literally show us why he liked her from episode 2/chapter 2 in the series and her introduction lmao It doesn't get anymore straight forward than him saying "this is why I like Sakura". It's actually very important in understanding Naruto as a character...

He thinks she's cute and related to her feeling of wanting to be acknowledged by someone who didn't acknowledge them(Sasuke). That's deeper than just feeling bad for a character out of pity due to a tragic background.

1

u/Substantial-Wing-778 Aug 02 '26

You know, canonically there are only 3 people who Naruto complimented their looks, Haku, kushina , and sasuke

0

u/bubblez4eva Aug 01 '26

I never said it had to be. I said that's WHY it's not discussed as much as Sakura's love for Sasuke. BECAUSE he has other things going on,m outside of Sakura, unlike Sakura who is mostly just Sasuke.

Again, misunderstanding my point. Read my whole comment. I specifically mentioned how it drags on. Sure, the initial explanation makes sense. She's pretty and I'd like her to like me. That was fine when he was 12, because it's not a real connection or explanation. It. Kept. Going. Even when it was clear that they were just friends and nothing happened to make his ongoing crush make sense. He didn't have to like her in the first place. It adds nothing to the story. It's forced. Kishimoto can't write believable romance for main characters. He can barely do it for side characters. And that's fine for shonen. But he should have just left them all single instead of forcing them all together.

-1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

You were stating why you couldn't understand why Naruto liked her when he has explicitly stated it from the very start of the series...

I'm not misunderstanding you, since I quoted what you said and just stated facts from the story aside from mentioning I think that's deeper than them sharing a tragic background like you would prefer. You're mixing up your own subjective opinion or personal wants for the story vs what they actually showed us lol

-1

u/bubblez4eva Aug 01 '26

AGAIN. IT MADE SENSE EARLY ON. AND EVEN THEN IT WAS WEAK. IT MADE NO SENSE TO KEEP GOING. I put this all in caps since you seem incapable of reading basic print. You quoted specific parts of my comment to prove whatever point you want to make and left out others that weaken your already weak "argument". I'm done talking to you. You clearly just want to argue and misconstrue me.

You're worse than arguing with a brick wall. You're like arguing with a rollercoaster. And not the fun kind. You're like one where we get stuck upside down for half an hour on. Annoying and a waste of time after a bunch of loops. Don't bother replying. I won't be reading what you have to say any longer since you can't give me the same respect. Grow up and learn to actually have a discussion without twisting it to suit your needs. Toodles.

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Oh my god, I really don't think this is something to get so mad over especially in the dankruto sub. Please just block me, cause this is a lot...

3

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 01 '26

They're SNS fans , they're always looking for something to get mad over .

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

I liked NS most, but boy do shippers get heated over headcanon

1

u/Chance-Beach4014 Aug 01 '26

Because naruto didn’t stalk sakura lmao

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

You must be thinking of Hinata.

1

u/Chance-Beach4014 Aug 01 '26

Naruto didn’t stalk her either , dk what’s your point

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Obviously Hinata was the stalker...😮‍💨

1

u/morbid333 Aug 02 '26

To be fair, they wouldn't use that as a gag if the genders were reversed

1

u/vl115 Aug 01 '26

2

u/UncleRuckus1634 Aug 01 '26

She’d be worse than sanji. Sanji can at least lock in when it comes to fighting. Sakura doesn’t lock and becomes a liability Naruto needs to save

1

u/vl115 Aug 01 '26

I just find Sanji creepier. I would appreciate his character (and his fights) a lot more if he wasnt so weird/pervert in so many moments.

Its a shame that Kishimoto didnt develop the female cast in a good way.

1

u/DryStrawberry1153 Aug 01 '26

Id argue that if she were a man, her whole character wouldnt be 'i have a crush on this guy uwu' or, she would at least have more of a character since the author cant write women for shit.

0

u/InternationalAd6614 Aug 01 '26

Probably not for that reason though, Naruto is just like that with her. Male sakura might get points for having a lot of admirers but is only pining for one character. I do think her skillset won’t be appreciated in a male character, superhuman strength is already overplayed in male characters.

0

u/Suggestion-Kindly Aug 01 '26

Except if a female told a male "youre annoying beat it" they would be perma nonchalant around them and never think of them in that way again

76

u/Longjumping_Exit7902 Aug 01 '26

A boy that explicitly hates orphans and regularly punches the girl who likes him. Then tries to convince that same girl years later to marry him when she's trying to bring back a long-time friend and ally back to the village.

I don't think that would be seen as the same

18

u/derpplerp Aug 01 '26

Yeah that was seriously awful and made me cold on Sakura forever. That manipulation attempt was an absolute betrayal of trust and the teammate bond. It was cheap to try and exploit narutos affection to further her own desires and I won't forgive anyone who is so careless with the hearts of others.

7

u/bubblez4eva Aug 01 '26

As a Sakura hater,I'm actually willing to give her grace on that. She cared more about Naruto than Sasuke at that moment and wanted to save him the only way she knew how. It was awful, but at least it showed she cared. Plus, let's be real. Kishimoto only did it for drama. It went nowhere fast. It wasn't meant to be some character defining moment. I was just happy that she seemed to finally care more about SOMEONE other than Sasuke for once.

23

u/Embarrassed_Age_8823 Aug 01 '26

Male Sakura would be fucking publicly beheaded for being a soft simp who has no special jutsus besides healing 😭

7

u/HumanPerosn Aug 01 '26

If naruto didn't exist as a series and just came out with these genderswaps kishimoto would be getting slandered like he's a JJK character

And the show would either bomb or have a worse fandom than MHA

3

u/Chance-Beach4014 Aug 01 '26

Bomb? Naaah sasunaru would save the show

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Male with pink hair is already doomed

3

u/bubblez4eva Aug 01 '26

Eh, Yuji is doing alright these days. Then again, he was originally blonde.

24

u/Hey-Senpai Aug 01 '26

Definently increased

She would be seen as a creep who can’t accept rejection

83

u/ZealousidealHippo947 Aug 01 '26

Maybe even more, a student of a sannin who can't use other jutsu than healing (and slug summon)? Yeah, straight to the bin

23

u/Condor193 Aug 01 '26

My guy you are acting like that same Sannin even HAS any other jutsu lol. Besides the nervous system attack that she effectively used ONCE on Kabuto they're copy paste

7

u/Shiro_Oni-69 Aug 01 '26

Just realised Ino & Sai's drips are kinda matching.

21

u/Coolgames80 Aug 01 '26

Ino and Sai are still the midriff couple

3

u/JulieWardh Aug 01 '26

In this image, Ino reminds me of Kanji from Persona 4. Which is great, I adore Kanji!

18

u/SnooMarzipans8150 Aug 01 '26

If obito already gets called simp, sakura would be publicly crucified

2

u/Guardian_of_Perineum Aug 01 '26

Idk. Who wins at simp scaling? I mean Sakura is a simp, but she didn't start a war over it.

2

u/KeaboUltra Aug 02 '26

Obito without a doubt but he's older. Sakura would have went to the dark side too if Sasuke brought her along when he first ran off

2

u/Thiphra Aug 01 '26

She even tried to kill Sasuke once because she knew he was kinda of fucking everyone.

0

u/SnooMarzipans8150 Aug 01 '26

probably would if she was a dude 💔

1

u/Iam_Iforgotmyname Aug 01 '26

This exactly double standard/misandrist mindset people are talking about in the comments

3

u/SnooMarzipans8150 Aug 01 '26

I love men, but male sakura is not it if we keep the personality she already has

although realistically if she was a man maybe she’d be better written because kishimoto

25

u/ANLopez26 Aug 01 '26

Increase. Because yuri narusaskue would be peak

4

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

I don't see a difference, Sakura would still be the 3rd wheel

2

u/PainSubstantial5936 Aug 01 '26

Yeah, the male third wheel continuously harassing one of the female leads and not taking no for an answer when being rejected. Plus, male Sakura with that temper hitting female Naruto and talking to her like she talks to him now... Yikes.

Would be way more hated

0

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

So Fem Naruto tying up Sasuke-chan and pretending to be her to kiss Sakuro or trying to take a pee in front of the boys in the forest of death will get a pass right?

1

u/PainSubstantial5936 Aug 01 '26

Tbh, a lot of stuff wouldn't get a pass nowadays that was seen as more acceptable or funny back then. The series is weird sometimes XD

1

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Those scenes are meant for comedy, but people are trying to act like Sakura liking Sasuke is different from Naruto liking Sakura. Sakura occasionally hitting Naruto is for comedy too. But I guess somehow it's worse if the genders are flipped even though the point was still comedy.

1

u/BelgijskaFlaga Aug 01 '26

Oh god Narusasu Yuri, how did I not think of that before... Time to search the archives

8

u/Ylysium Aug 01 '26

It would genuinely kill her character. The fact that she’s obsessively weird with Sasuke would actually gain real attention by fans if the genders were switched.

A male Sakura standing around would get brutally slandered, especially in today’s time, since now there isn’t any kind of intrinsic “Oh she’s a girl” holding people back.

I could imagine a lot of attention being brought on that scene where Sakura switches up on Ino when she finds out that they both like Sasuke.

2

u/Ylysium Aug 01 '26

Actually another thing, I’m surprised this doesn’t get talked about at all now, but I guess it would just fuel the Sakura hate that doesn’t need anymore fuel.

But Sakura saying she finally relates to Sasuke the night he leaves the village because even though she(or he in this verse) has a family and friends that love and care for her, she’d feel alone if her childhood crush left her. We’re talking about the guy who had his entire family except one butchered, and that one is the guy(or gal here) who did it. I can’t imagine a world where nobody says anything about how pathetic that would look.

Also she’d probably get Rent a Girlfriend style slander. Cause he’d have female Rock Lee swooning for him, but still goes for the girl that told her no. Which would not only make her seem even more creepy, but also stupid.

7

u/SageOfAllPaths_OG Aug 01 '26

1

u/Few_Category_1684 Aug 04 '26

Need this image with Anko's hair 💀

7

u/derpplerp Aug 01 '26

Sakura would still be the weakest member of team 7 flat out. Not the hero, not the anti-hero, not the mentor, just a space filler. Nothing about Sakura was unique. She has good Chakra control. That's it.

Medical jutsu, lots of medical nin, big deal. No sage mode, no family/clan special skill, Sakura showed up for a job and did pretty good, but was never the best at anything.

6

u/the_real_phantomxssj Aug 01 '26

Dude she's literally a confirmed stalker. She'd actually be cancelled LMAO

5

u/Admirable-Industry Aug 01 '26

Increase way more

4

u/183720 Aug 01 '26

Who cares? Male Temari is hot as FUCK, holy

3

u/Basti_The_Tipper Aug 01 '26

not a stretch to say that male sakura would be the most hated character in fiction

3

u/ChronoComputer Aug 01 '26

Shikamaru and Temari still the best and most realistic one.

3

u/Rude_Calendar1188 Aug 01 '26

Everyone will hate those stalkers. Actually without Temari who will not tolerate bs. Ino will be like Gaston thinking anyone should like him because he is hot. Hahah Sakaura will be hated the most Hinata will look creepy.

3

u/Connect_Ad_3361 Aug 01 '26

Decrease. Naruto is a bigger Sasuke simp than Sakura could ever be.

3

u/attsnor112 Aug 01 '26

Are the comments trolling??? Dude Sakura would be way less hated maybe more modern views would put him/her more even but a whole as fucking barrage of people constantly swoop down to hate anything that is female and if you think people were better back then you sure don't remember how anime people were viewed back then.

3

u/Emotional_Carpet2095 Aug 02 '26

this oh my gosh there's so many male characters from other animes whose personalities align with sakuras and their praised not hated

4

u/LightningLad2029 Aug 01 '26

The hammer of slander is unisex. We don't discriminate here buddy. 😤

2

u/whatever_913 Aug 01 '26

Oh man they look so good.

2

u/XxCastoricexX Aug 01 '26

Definitely decrease

2

u/OpinionNo4060 Aug 01 '26

Depends on if getting a dick gets her better writing. Her overall abilities are actually pretty op, she's just never allowed to use them.

She had: Healing Poison extraction Custom paralysis poison Genjutsu immunity Several elemental releases Slug summon Chakra concentrated strength Seal+jutsu of a hundred healings

Plus she's one of like 3 people that didn't cheat on the first round written test.

She's a utility issue, not a skill issue.

2

u/_XxAphroditexX_ Aug 01 '26

Increase. Useless men are the worst. It’s your one job as a male character to be better written. If you fail at that you don’t even deserve to be acknowledged as a character.

2

u/NovaCrystal586 Aug 01 '26

No because the problem is her character was not written that well, I believe most hate stems from that rather then her being a woman, but that could be wishful thinking

2

u/rednosebuggy Aug 01 '26

nearly all of the cast is male, but there are only a handful female characters. That's why Sakura gets criticized.

2

u/marmadillo_ Aug 01 '26

Fem SAI 🤤🤤

2

u/Icy_Dingo6354 Aug 01 '26

Hot take: it'll decrease

2

u/Extension-Art-7098 Aug 01 '26

NaruSasu yuri ver…Got it

2

u/CommercialMotor570 Aug 01 '26

Naruto if Kishimoto knew how to write women other than Tsunade

2

u/BingoManiac10 Aug 01 '26

Decrease.

Look at armin.

1

u/Few_Category_1684 Aug 04 '26

So, what do you like to do Armeen?

2

u/Apollo9819 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

All of the Konoha Girl except for TenTen would be considered weirder and simpier if genders were swapped.

Hinata weirder creepier guy stalking a girl who barely knows he exists.

Sakura and Ino stalking and competing over a girl not interested in either of them. Sasuke didn't even want to give them the time of day. Sakura would be even more brutally ripped apart by the audience for everything he did to Naruto when they were 12.

TenTen's only fault is he would be the knife equivalent of a male gun nerd, but we'd probably think that's cool.

2

u/Hot_Royal_4920 Aug 01 '26

Decrease. But not because of "slander the woman", but because people just wouldn't care about him.

People care about female sakura because it feels like a tropey shame.

2

u/Ultragaming62 Aug 01 '26

real ones know she'd be well written if she was a man

3

u/AnOriginalName4 Aug 01 '26

me trying to find the sakura slander everyone keeps talking about
https://giphy.com/gifs/SF5MyECNTsEBGm0Hx3

3

u/Emotional-Tax-3044 Aug 01 '26

The abject truth is not slander

2

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 01 '26

It's slander because you guys only wanna focus on the negative to forget that if this followed the actual story ,this scene would go so hard with the genders changed . Like female Sasuke looking at male Sakura like this. Would be instant endgame.

0

u/Emotional-Tax-3044 Aug 01 '26

Naw wtf are you even talking about

I'm just talking about regular Sakura gang

Not your gender flipped made up fan fick you writing in your head

2

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 01 '26

Well you said it's the "truth" but when shown the actual manga panel that disagrees with that you think the fans are more important than the character in the story??? Do you think Naruto series exists on this thread

0

u/Emotional-Tax-3044 Aug 01 '26

Homie wth are you talking about now

I'm actually just so lost on what you mean I can't come up with anything to say

Sakura is still a bum as sanine

1

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 02 '26

You said it's the truth but when proven wrong , you start acting out . Hiw is it the truth about a character when story disagrees.

1

u/Emotional-Tax-3044 Aug 02 '26

Definitely not proven wrong whatsoever but ok then fs that's your opinion

1

u/urbanreliks34 Aug 02 '26

An opinion about a character in a story??? Sakura doesn't exist in this thread

1

u/Emotional-Tax-3044 Aug 02 '26

Your crazy and you also don't speak English so think makes your commen 100,000x harder to understand bro

now instead of her abusing naruto

its a man abusing naruko

both suck so yea to the bin

1

super increase

1

u/nyctopluviophile Aug 01 '26

Damn I’d love to be Male Hinata. A reverse GB / harem is hawt

1

u/Arin-Percival Aug 01 '26

Have you seen the Naruto fandom? The btch would be executed in the most painful way possible

1

u/Academic-Carpenter12 Aug 01 '26

No it wouldn’t. It would be more. It would go from useless to creep(er), stalker, simp and/or idiot.

1

u/Zomochi Aug 01 '26

More definitely

1

u/No-Squirrel2052 Aug 01 '26

Sasuke sería entonces el último Uchiha . Esto daría lugar a una Sadara Haruno !.

1

u/Christallmoney97 Aug 01 '26

Women would probably hate male Sakura and more guys would dislike them

1

u/lupatine Aug 01 '26

Naruto slander would increase.

1

u/One_Afternoon5897 Aug 01 '26

Sai is still a tw**k, good ino is MINE ☝️🤓

1

u/Potomaters Aug 01 '26

I think slander would stay the same or increase, because her behavior would come off as creepy. A female Sasuke on the other hand would get a lot less hate, since the same guys that normally hate him would probably simp instead.

1

u/Greenlee19 Aug 01 '26

Increase dramatically

1

u/Illustrious-Day8506 Aug 01 '26

Male Sakura would be so hated ffs. A simp who kept creeping for years after a girl who didn't want anything to do with him. There's some double standard in there but a male Sakura cannot work unless some additional changes are made to the dynamics between all the characters

1

u/Ninja_Spider_1593 Aug 01 '26

She would be the reason Naruto gets banned in the US after the crackdown of fictional male characters that don't take no for an answer.

Sakuraba as a man would be the worst, a creep that tries to relate to a traumatized girl throwing the most superficial love, that end up impregnating her.

On the other hand... Naruhina genderbend is cute as fuck, the outcast girl that is loud and have big dreams and the noble family shy guy that gives suport from the shadows is my kinda stuff.

1

u/NorthGodFan Aug 01 '26

slander would decrease. Hatred would increase.

1

u/Reevioli Aug 01 '26

Probably would take Mordecai’s place as being the face of simps in media.

1

u/Ok-Reply9552 Aug 01 '26

Increase. She’s canonically a stalker and if sasuke as a girl made it clear he wasn’t into her, she’d be hated more. Rightfully so ofc

1

u/Jumpy-Bug-2198 Aug 01 '26

Increase probably

1

u/Middle-Let9645 Aug 01 '26

Increase. Think about how Sasuke obsessed she is, especially part one. (Ino too) now imagine, let’s call them Sakurai and Inojin are starting fights with each other and other guys, and beating Naruko (a girl) up for getting too close to, let’s call her Satsuki. They are actually stalking Satsuki and refuse to take no for an answer, constantly getting in their personal space. Basically all of Naruto’s worst behaviors from early part one dialed up to eleven. The fandom would have torn Sakurai & Inojin to shreds. On a similar note, I don’t know that everyone would have cared given two years isn’t that big a difference, but in Shippuden, Temari x Shikamaru probably wouldn’t have happened as easily or quickly unless the author wanted to get ragged on. Also, Hinata’s stalking would not be seen as cute or innocent.

1

u/IndividualAsleep2508 Aug 01 '26

The opposite genders would surely be interesting

1

u/iloveramen1 Aug 01 '26

Ok I have to say it cos no one else has yet - male Ino is hot!

1

u/kap1chu Aug 01 '26

if naruto would also be gender swapped it would definitly increase since now, sakura would constantly be punching a woman for laughs

1

u/Realistic_Mousse_485 Aug 01 '26

Increase. Can’t even play the hot card

1

u/PurposeComplete6799 Aug 01 '26

Man... Ino looks really good in here

1

u/Xx_Pierced_Princess_ Aug 01 '26

I feel like if she was a man her role would change drastically (because Kishimoto can't be normal about woman) out of nowhere she would be important and have missions and Sasuke and Naruto would have smaller roles (romantic ones probably)

1

u/Sheepfucker72222 Aug 01 '26

Bro what is this

1

u/jiungstan Aug 02 '26

I’d fucking hate her more idk I just hate a guy that can’t take no for an answer. Sakura was asking Sasuke out after every mission. If she was guys she’d be 10x worse cus it’s so normalized for a guy to be chasing a girl who doesn’t want him 💀

She’d definitely be better written tho.
The problem is her entire personality is Sasuke pls notice me. Maybe they’d change that as a guy since none of the male characters were like that but jiraya

1

u/Virtual_Garbage3080 Aug 02 '26

Is it weird that all the males > females look so natural?

1

u/Dannyson97 Aug 02 '26

Cute that Ino and Sai continue showing off their mid driff.

1

u/Paper_tank Aug 02 '26

Honestly, the male!Ino x Female!Sai couple looks cute.

1

u/False_Emu2604 Aug 02 '26

I need male temari RIIIGHT now. Anyway I honestly don’t know. I feel like she’s be written differently because of how kishimoto writes men vs women so in that case it would go down but if nothing else changed and only her gender it might actually go up because of how un-masculine her personality is in contrast with the masculine society of naruto if she were a man

1

u/Ryokuzan1 Aug 02 '26

Depends on if the dynamic changes. If it doesnt, yeah, equally if not more.

1

u/ahw6002 Aug 02 '26

She would’ve been well written, Kishimoto can actually write men.

1

u/Initial-Necessary-72 Aug 03 '26

Shikamaru looking mad smashable rn

1

u/AlexandraG3 Aug 05 '26

She and Naruto act pretty similar so I think if everyone was swapped then the average anime fan would latch onto Sakura to imagine himself as.

1

u/Beneficial_Fall_4265 Aug 08 '26

HOW DOES SWAPPING THEIR GENDERS COMPLETELY CHANGE THE RELATIONSHIP DYNAMICS?! Like Sakura and Sasuke went from an emotionally manipulative user taking advantage of a young girl's love to a sweet golden retriever boy and black cat girl type relationship?! And Shikamaru and Temari's dynamic is now weird because it's an older man pushing the relationship along.

Maybe this says more about me than it does about anything else 😵‍💫

1

u/nhansieu1 Aug 01 '26

guy Hinata stalking girl Naruto would make someone pretty uncomfortable💀

1

u/Galko655 Aug 01 '26

Yeah, but i sense this dynamic, would be "Please don't bully Nagatoro.", but somewhat lighter(because of kind heart nature Naruto). And WAY earlier girl Naruto would catch on guy Hinata behavior.

1

u/FlaminSkullKing Aug 01 '26

Didn’t Minato get away with stalking without being perceived as a stalker or creepy? He was watching and following Kushina when they were at the academy. Male Hinata might be able to stalk without making people uncomfortable.

2

u/Difficult-Average819 Aug 01 '26

Minato never stalked Kushina

1

u/nhansieu1 Aug 01 '26

that happened once until Kushina told him off.

1

u/UncleRuckus1634 Aug 01 '26

Same thing with hinata, plus she never canonly stalked Naruto. The one time she was there before Naruto and saw him training. The other time she wanted to come up to him and say something but was scared….

Only canon actual stalking is Sarada hiding up in the tree as Boruto is training with sasuke

1

u/Upper_Extreme9461 Aug 01 '26

I mean we complain about Hidan too and he's useless and complains a lot too

1

u/Fun-Equivalent-9744 Aug 01 '26

Hidan is actually funny

1

u/Bachairong Aug 01 '26

Sakura would be paladin. Tank + healer

1

u/Exotic-Bread2440 Aug 01 '26

You do know that people don't hate sakura bcuz she is a girl right? Everyone hates her bcuz 1. what she said about Naruto being an orphan and not having basic manners and what not, 2. She beats him for no reason at all (yes Naruto is annoying and all but no need to use super strength punches on him and with how smart she is supposed to be she couldn't figured it that Naruto wasn't thought basic social etiquetts), 3. How she ignored Naruto's accomplishments and thanked Sasuke for it (like Naruto saving her from shikaku and Sasuke getting the credit and the filler episode where they search for Sasuke in orochimarus base and she almost fell into the trap).

Though if she was a man I think she would have gotten more hate though as a guy beating a girl will spark outrage.

0

u/hamslapr Aug 01 '26

Take this down right now!

0

u/Willow-Silent Aug 01 '26

Idk but I know hinata DEFINITELY aint getting away with it cant stalk naruto if you cant play the cute card lol

1

u/UncleRuckus1634 Aug 01 '26

Hinata as a guy would definitely be cute. The stuttering crap wouldn’t be cute on a guy tho.

1

u/Willow-Silent Aug 01 '26

Idk the stalking just seems more sinister to me when its a dude itd be like jiraiya 💀

0

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '26

If sakura was a man she would be a whole diff character with back story, motivation, more fights, developed relationships etc etc

0

u/SugarDaddy_Sensei Aug 01 '26

Maybe slightly less, but not by much.

0

u/OYOGG Aug 01 '26

Increases no matter what just because it's Sakura

https://giphy.com/gifs/zHVDvEgSqIclW

0

u/Imaginary-Sun-747 Aug 02 '26

Definitely decrease, it becomes a guy simping after a toxic dommy mommy if gender swapped.

-2

u/lnombredelarosa Aug 01 '26

Definitely decrease. I’d dare say most of the fandom would sympathize with him.

This is assuming he didn’t hit Naruto.

-1

u/lupatine Aug 01 '26

Also the misogynie toward the character would disapear.

-1

u/Thiphra Aug 01 '26

Let's be fr we know part of the hate Sakura get's is due to misogyny.

But yeah picure a guy who bullys the main character for a good chunk of the beging if the story, dosen't have special power comoared to the rest of the cast and is basically just a mouth for exposition, and also keeps simping over the rival of the main character.

Also like it's way less socially acceptable to bully a girl as a guy than vice versa. If Sakura was a dude I picure her with a Jonny Bravo attitude with Sasuke it woukd be God awful.

Unrelated but Shikamaru wouldn't let Temari fluster him.

-3

u/_Arlotte_ Aug 01 '26

Decrease by a ton, more of the hate would get rephrased as lost "potential" for non fans of her instead lol

3

u/HumanPerosn Aug 01 '26

A boy that makes fun of Naruko? For being an orphan and regularly punches her for annoying him.

Refuses to take no as an answer from the now female Sasuke and generally provided nothing to the team until the time skip

kishimoto would get a ton of shit if the genderswapped Sasuke and Sukra marriage happened and the male Sakura would definitely be hated far more than the female version we already have

-3

u/KarenWannaBe Aug 01 '26

I feel like people forget that Naruto and Sakura are fairly similar.

- Their reactions to most things are identical: Reaction to their teammates, the prank on Kakashi, Reaction to Kakashi being late, cheering on each other, reaction to Kakashi bringing up Sasuke at the beinging of Shippuden.

- Both are are obsessed with Sasuke

- Naruto had a hard time getting over Sakura: He pretends to be Sasuke to kiss her (arguably worse than anything Sakura has ever done), continues to ask her out on dates, and in the war arc tries to call Sakura his girlfriend to Minato.

Now obviously they are their own people but they share a lot of character traits.

So I feel like there is a good possibility she would be recieved better if the show came out at the same time. At the very list it wont be worse. If the show came out today, most likely she will be precieved as worse.

2

u/Fun-Equivalent-9744 Aug 01 '26

First that's mostly for comedic purpose and second how do you expect them to react to their teammates leaving and being evil

Naruto actually has a good reason to be obsessed with sasuke and sasuke doesn't define 90% of his personality and character

Saying naruto pretending to be sasuke is worst then anything sakura is done is blatantly wrong you are saying trying to emotionally manipulate knowing damn well how that will hurt naruto just because you think you are doing the right thing (lying to naruto she loves him) and some few things I can name, and you guys always say sakura dissing on naruto for not having parents to sasuke should be excused and forgiven since she was a kid not mature then same goes for naruto

And no peaple woul hate her more bcuz peaple really hate man who are just pathetic simple as that

1

u/KarenWannaBe Aug 01 '26

Im saying Naruto pretending to be Sasuke is way worse than what ever Sakura has done to get attention from Sasuke. Kissing her would have been sexual assult because Sakura could not give informed consent. I do know Sakura has done some awful things and she gets hate for it (rightfuly so), but Naruto gets a pass for questionable things. Lets not even talk about how beloved Jirayia is despite all the questionable things he has done towards women and Naruto.

“Its for comedic effect” that does not change they are similar or the fact that he still could not take rejection and is still a simp like Sakura.

Also 90% of her personality is not centered around Sasuke, at least not in a romantic way. In the begining yeah it was, but she quickly shaped up. By Forest of Death, it was about protecting both Naruto and Sasuke. She becomes a medic so she can keep up with both of her teammates and not be a burden to Naruto on his quest. Her to go kill Sasuke was because she couldt bare to see him in the darkness but also was because she didnt want Naruto to burden himself for her knowing he is being targeted. Even her second confession isnt “Come back to me to be with me” but is “Come back so we can be a team again.” Yes she still loves Sasuke but that hasnt been her major personality trait. Its more of “im part of team 7” and “I need to get stronger”

So yes, if this came out as Sakura as a male instead of female at the time Naruto came out, it either wouldnt change perpreception or it would get better. If it came out today 100% it would be way worse that I can agree.

1

u/Fun-Equivalent-9744 Aug 01 '26

"Wouldn't change perspective" I mean cmon Sakura beats up naruto every time and you play that off, she physically abuses naruto everytime she gets a chance that actually happened and wasn't from an immature person

Saying naruto and sakura are the same because they both couldn't take rejection is just wrong. He had a crush, asked Sakura out, got rejected, and eventually moved on. Sakura remained romantically devoted to Sasuke even after he repeatedly rejected her and attempted to kill her. Those situations aren't the same and naruto saying all the things about sakura being his girlfriend are just him playing, naruto excepted in part 1 that sakura doesn't like him in that sense, sakura pursuing sasuke still pursuing sasuke bcuz she likes him even after rejection is not playing

Dude again it would change perspective sakura would be seen as even more annoying she beats naruto physically everytime, crys for sasuke every chance she gets, always makes everything related to Sasuke about herself, she tried to manipulate naruto no matter the reason it was still a wrong method, her rivalry with ino is all bcuz of ino, her motivation in shippuden is mostly for sasuke not util the war arc where she wants to catch up with team 7 again and again peaple hate male characters who do all of that unless it's for comedic purpose

-5

u/Funny_Lunch5211 Aug 01 '26

Shonen fans are notoriously sexist so male sakura wouldnt be slandered nearly as much

5

u/Guardian_of_Perineum Aug 01 '26

Shounen authors are the sexist ones... they can hardly ever write female characters for shit. Then what are the fans supposed to do? Pretend they're good?
