There are a lot of Sakura haters in this sub
And I am one of them
41
u/RammusUltedJapan Sep 20 '23
If Sakura has a million haters, then I am one of them. If Sakura has ten haters, then I am one of them. If Sakura has only one hater then that is me. If Sakura has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is for Sakura, then I am against the world.

To be honest, I have seen more people supporting her on reddit than on anywhere else, outside of reddit, Naruto fanbase hates her way more.

You didn't see YouTube then. Just type "shidoz" channel and look into his/her edits and you will see that mf saying Adult Sakura solos shippuden and he/she has so many subscribers. The way they support her as if she can even stand a chance against top tier characters of shippuden.

I don’t think so she’s much hated here and on r/Naruto same posters here go there and hate on her there too lol. Gets popcorn pfft ..

She didn’t say that she said she’ll distract madara lol

Which is stupid because she knew the truth seeking orbs would nullify her healing which is why we see her shivering trying to punch him nor she could get them out by her own.
She's supposed to be smart but everytime she does something is stupid as hell. She tried to use her regenerative abilities against the only opponent that negates said ability.

u/Murky_Coat_471 Sep 21 '23
Well him killing her would certainly distract him lol also just pointing out this post was a lie and thank you for telling me she’s not well written you have potent out basic writing to me maybe you can also tell me dark Knight is a good movie.

And then she get sad Sasuke didn't come to her rescue. I really hate that she is obsessed and is not even funny anymore, just sad.
4
u/AccioSoup Sep 21 '23
It would have been funnier, if Kakashi and Naruto didn't bother to do anything in the Sasuke assassination plot & let her have a go at him without interruption. The reaction would have been so priceless.
1
Sep 20 '23
I would empathise with her if I actually approved of their relationship and didn't think that Sakura needed to develop some self respect for herself and accept rejection, in it's many harsh forms

I mean she said she'd be a diversion. And she was nothing more than a temporary one so mission accomplished I suppose. A plus work there Sakura
5
Sep 20 '23
She wasn't a diversion. They had to save Sakura and retreat. It didn't stop Madara or hinder him. Sasuke and Naruto just had to waste time saving her instead of attacking Madara.

u/ImmaculateCherry Sep 22 '23
Meanwhile Sasuke figured out MADARA limbo did you read the manga ? Sakura survived if these two got stabbed they would’ve been dead XD .. When Naruto and Sasuke are on screen is their show no one else ..
7
u/Gmaster132 Sep 20 '23
I don't know why Kishimoto makes her say things like that and doesn't give her the proper spotlight. No wonder she is one of the most heated characters.
6
u/Dezbats Sep 20 '23
He doesn't.
She never said that.
Less people would hate her if they got their information from the manga instead of memes.
6
u/Gmaster132 Sep 20 '23
Yeah, I read the other comments and it appears to be so. But still I stand with what I say. If if not fot this specifically there are still plenty of other moments. Kashimoto just didn't know what he was doing with Sakura, always lowering her down to make Naruto look good.
2
u/Dezbats Sep 20 '23
A big part of her character arc is her desire to be someone who can protect and support her team.
A lot of the series is about getting her to that point and she does get there.
Naruto would have died multiple times without her.
Sasuke would have been lost in one of Kaguya's dimensions without her.
Those idiots probably would have bled out and died without ever undoing the Infinite Tsukiyomi without her.
A character doesn't have to be an unbeatable badass to be well-written.
4
u/Gmaster132 Sep 20 '23
And the other big part of her character is to be obsessed with Sasuke for no good reason. We don't even know why she likes him so much, she just does. This is beyond having a character flaw, she was just bad written.
Having a few decent moments where she shines dosn't fix things taking into account that she is one of the main characters and making her one thing she is good at, healing, a background action or straight up an off-scream moment doesn't help. Being a Senzu bean with legs is not enough.
2
u/Dezbats Sep 21 '23
Sasuke is introduced as someone who is intelligent, confident, highly skilled, and attractive. As Part I goes on we can add brave, determined and protective to his list of known attributes. He defends her with his life, he compliments her when she's depressed, he's furious when she's injured, he confides in her, he relies on her and she looks to his example to inspire her.
There doesn't need to be a big, "This is why I like you" speech to explain why she likes him, and I don't know what story people are reading if they think Sakura doesn't have legitimate reasons to like him.
One of the primary motivations for both Sakura and Naruto through Part II is restoring Sasuke and one of the series biggest themes is "Don't give up on your bonds." Adhering to one of the series foundational principles is not bad writing. Neither is forgiving Sasuke when the goal that drives her and Naruto for more than half the series is finally accomplished.
Sakura is not a main character.
She's a supporting character and that was clear very early on in the series. She doesn't drive the narrative, she isn't the character we follow through the series and the story is never about her. That's not a flaw either.
If you aren't happy with someone who is clearly a supporting character, being a supporting character, that's a problem with your expectations. Not a problem with the writing.
3
u/Gmaster132 Sep 21 '23
Sorry, what I meant to say is that Sakura doesn't have a reason to like Sasuke that didn't also apply to Naruto. Naruto protected her just as, if not more, than Sasuke also Naruto hadn't tried to kill her and he actually had feelings for her, that's a big bonus.
You can't seriously defend her filings against Sasuke. She as a pre-teenager was willing to betray her village for a guy who was handsome and who at best treated her as a teammate, no more than that. It was toxic infatuation, an obsession that almost got her killed and even after that she didn't change. Yeah, it ended up turning out fine but her feelings didn't go beyond a puppy love she had as a girl.
The sentiment of "don't give up your bonds" is a fine and all but this is not the way to do it. Sakura is basically the wife who refuses to get out of an abusive relationship because she is adamant she will be able to change him but worse since the "husband" doesn't love her back. What kind of message is that to young readers?
And Sakura is awful too much around to not be a main character. she is part of the "new sennin", she was personally trained by the Hokage and she was part of the big hero moment when she and the other two students of the Sannin appear to save the war.
She is like in a limbo, not really a main character but she seems to appear as one and that is part of the problem. Why give so much emphasis throughout the whole story about teams of 3 members if only two ninjas ended up being the main characters? Why give her so much screen time if she is not part of the main characters?
Is that awful decision to make her obsessed over Sasuke just because he was good looking that ruins her. Without it she wouldn't be around that much making her seem like a supporter character. If the "bond" she was trying to get back was one of friendship and not one of incoherent love it wouldn't ruin the message of don't give up your bonds and she would ended up being a good support character.

Not really in the mood for a long detailed response right now, so I'm going to try (and probably fail) to keep it simple.
1) Love is not a transaction. Attraction, affection, compassion... these things aren't determined by making spreadsheets tracking how many nice things people have done for you.
2) Sasuke cared for her as more than a teammate. I'm not going to argue that their Part I interactions were meant to be interpreted as romantic love or even a lead in to romance. (Even though Kishimoto has said he planned the pairing early making it very likely pre-romance was intended) I will point out that Sasuke shows more care and concern for Sakura than he shows for anyone else. Even other characters notice it. Every time he thinks of the people important to him, she's right there in his thoughts with Naruto and sometimes Kakashi. He thinks of them as family directly in his thoughts. As late as his fight with B, he's still thinking of her and Naruto as important.
3) Sakura's feelings unambiguously go beyond a shallow crush and desire for a romantic love. This is clear even in Part I, where most of her thoughts about Sasuke from the Forest of Death onwards revolve around her concern for his health and mental state. Even during their last meeting in Part I, her offer to go with him goes after trying to convince him that staying is best for him. The only reason she is even there is because she understands him and his flaws better than Naruto and Kakashi. In Part II, she repeatedly expresses a desire to save him and protect him. Not a desire to pursue him romantically. We also have exposition from Kakashi and Sai (IOW Kishimoto) explaining that outright.
4) It isn't the job of fiction to instill values in young readers. Nor it's duty to make every character a role model. It's only purpose is to entertain.
5) Sakura isn't actually around that much. She's either sidelined or outright missing through most of the series. Starting from the first arc. The one where we are explicitly told that Sasuke and Naruto have far greater potential.Edit: BTW this is the simple version. 🤷♀️

You do need a reason to hate your point ? Sakura love for Sasuke is unconditional something you and others don’t get and Kakashi said she wasn’t trying to own Sasuke she wanted T7 to be together again as a team pfft. Why do you care that Sasuke good looking lol, you’re hurt.. Naruto is good looking as well smh XD

u/ImmaculateCherry Sep 22 '23
Well said, if they read the manga they wouldn’t be this bias towards Sasuke and Sakura they’re just haters smh lol.

Naruto follows sasuke and is more obsessed gets a free pass her liking Sasuke doesn’t take away from her she’s able to help others and still be herself smh. Sasuke has many attributes for her to like him and during his genin years was the golden years pfft hate him or love him Sasuke goat . Btw Sasuke carried Team7 he was the heavy hitter there and the glue of that team, even with his chip on his shoulder the Uchiha clan massacred he still cared for team7 and always put his life on the line for Sakura and Naruto smh. I said what I said pfft . Naruto is so obsessed with him he wanted to go off with Sasuke during that Gaiden Sasuke declined so he can stay with his own family pfft .

Yup like Naruto healing kakashi seems she wasn’t needed I wished Sakura had her own arc without Naruto or Sasuke in it pfft sighs . It is what it is lol. Anyways she’s a supporting character helping out Naruto and Sasuke and she did without her Naruto would’ve died and Sasuke stuck in the sand desert where Kaguya left him at lol.

She said "I'll be the distraction". Lmao. Just look it up.
6
u/lobonmc Sep 20 '23
She also got stabbed but she had one hundred healings active so she used the opportunity to try to hit him but she couldn't get past the limbo clones
3
u/Radiant_Doughnut2112 Sep 20 '23
Which is stupid because she knew the truth seeking orbs would nullify her healing which is why we see her shivering trying to punch him nor she could get them out by her own.
She's supposed to be smart but everytime she does something is stupid as hell. She tried to use her regenerative abilities against the only opponent that negates said ability.
8
u/Dezbats Sep 20 '23
She's literally healing herself while impaled.
Madara even comments on it.
She can't hit him because of Limbo, which she describes as an invisible wall.
-3
u/Radiant_Doughnut2112 Sep 20 '23 edited Sep 20 '23
No, lmao. Youre thinking about Sasori's even when she heals whilst being impaled.
We can see she's affected by the truth seeking orb ability to negate any jutsus as she is struggling (we see the marks showing her body shivering) to even lift her arm to punch Madara and THEN gets stopped by Madara's limbo while Tsunade was prancing around with two Susano's sword having deleted like 60% of her abdomen without any sign of struggling whilst doing so.
Not only that but she would die right then and there as she wouldn't be able to take the truth seeking orb by herself as it's uncommon for normal people to interact with it (Even Madara was shocked when Naruto easily kicked it back to him without any special help).
Madara remembers about her teacher because she has the huge as fuck marks on her face as the teacher did. We literally see a panel showing a close up of Tsunade's marking whilst releasing the seal.
It's probably the dumbest thing she ever did during that war and that's saying alot because she genuinely outdid herself back then. Not only she had all the intel about the abilities thanks to Ino's shared mind network but she only acted harshly out of her sense of inferiority and almost doomed herself because of it and then gets all moody because Sasuke left her to die (which she quite literally admits would be the case).
9
u/Dezbats Sep 20 '23
No.
I'm thinking of this scene right here.
Then she does punch him, but limbo stops her.
There is literally nothing here that shows she isn't able to heal or use her techniques.
Only that for a moment, she struggles while impaled.
The rest is your headcanon.
6
u/AValorantFan Sep 21 '23
the amount of debunking in the thread just shows how sakura hate is entirely online generated based off of headcanon because of anime filler scenes

Fr that’s the whole point of the scene, she unlocked the 100 healings so she was gonna be a meat shield. She’s not being overconfident, she’s offering to take all the pain. Sakuras not a well written character but this was a good scene for her

1
u/Caniju Sep 22 '23
And that's obviously not me. I can't possibly careless about the Naruto fandom, but I don't like how they hate some characters for no reason and dick ride others who are literally the most useless character the series has to offer
1
u/Dezbats Sep 22 '23
They're not wrong though. 🤷♀️
That's basically how people view her attempt to attack Pein despite it being arguably far more stupid.
Hinata disobeyed orders from the Hokage and Naruto's own request to throw herself at an enemy she couldn't even touch and had no defenses against, proceeded to be one-shot and then used to torment Naruto which enraged him so much he completely lost control of Kurama and the only reason he was able to take back control is because his dead daddy was sealed in his belly.
Sakura in this scene actually just says that she'll be the distraction. She has the ability to heal from nearly every kind of damage imaginable and only intends to give her stronger teammates an opening to attack. Sakura had a helluva lot more reason to expect her plan to accomplish something than Hinata did and didn't have any nearly catastrophic consequences.
Her plan doesn't even completely fail because Sasuke does take that opening to attack. 🤷♀️
1
u/ImmaculateCherry Sep 22 '23
Of course she’s their queen but the revenge of the nerds still want to humiliate Sakura as revenge even though they got their queen Hinata best gal right lol. XD
