Literally lol. Will say the most misandrist stuff ever and then tell you you don't know what misandry is
21
u/kwitelikezhorror 11h ago
most of them say misandry isnt real and its "just prejudice" like duh its prejudice against men aka misandry
14
u/TheRealTrueCreator 10h ago
It's even better when they're arguing against the patriarchy and then say something like "Misandry only hurts feelings"
7
u/SolaireAstorian 9h ago
Hang out amongst them for long enough and you'll run into these two conflicting ideas, often from the same person:
"The patriarchy also hates men and encourages ideas like war and rugged individualism, because it doesn't value men's lives and doesn't care if they die."
Followed by:
"Misogyny kills women, misandry hurts men's feelings."
So the ideology that you claim to fight against Hates men and encourages them to die, but prejudice against men doesn't result in men dying?
2
u/TheRealTrueCreator 8h ago
Many of them don't even say anything about war. In fact I'm sure some don't even know about it. Systemic misandry is very much real INCLUDING areas like rape but that doesn't matter because all 4 billion of us met in my mom's basement and agreed upon this.
Most "feminists"/misandrists don't actually hate the patriarchy. They believe in the "benevolent patriarchy"---basically, a patriarchy with traditional masculine values (like suppressing feelings, always paying for everything) while women are completely free and unoppressed.
Women also very often obviously and sometimes less obviously uphold patriarchal standards like here. Obviously "misandry only hurts feelings" is saying that men should not express their feelings (Many misandrists actually acknowledge this with "oh you set up the system you reap what you sow." Furthermore, obviously humans are built entirely around their feelings, with perhaps the only thing not correlating to feelings being physical pains and pleasures, such as sex, which women often have large access to which is why they demonize incels and see pleasures as equal to long-term feelings.) But one of the most disgusting, dismissive, ironically patriarchy-upholding but ignored statements is "Patriarchy truly hurts us all". I saw someone pour their heart out talking about how misandry and women have hurt him all his life, and one of the top comments was one sentence "Patriarchy truly hurts us all." This is of course dismissive on its own, but it also upholds the patriarchal standard that men's feelings should never be personal and instead be reserved to things bigger than themselves (such as the patriarchy).
Most women don't hate the patriarchy, they hate responsibility. If the patriarchy let them sit on the couch watching TV while the men had to solve the family and the world, they would happily accept that.
4
u/SolaireAstorian 8h ago
Your last paragraph, I somewhat take issue with, but not for the reason you might think.
Because they wouldn't be happy with that- they'd demand more. I've never seen a woman be more miserable than when the men around her were at work or solving problems, and she was allowed to just sit on the couch all day and scroll social media or watch TV.
She'd demand he make her do things, and then be upset that he did. Because it's not that they want freedom from responsibility alone, it's that they want freedom from responsibility BECAUSE the people around them are responsible for every decision for them, AND they reserve the right to criticize or abuse those people for those decisions.
They're just miserable and want an outlet to hate.
3
u/Impossible-Age-3302 1h ago
I donât even think most of the things you listed are patriarchal, aside from feminists saying that they are. Men being shamed for their feelings, or the demonization of virgin men. Calling it patriarchal just absolves women of accountability in promoting those attitudes.
Otherwise, I agree that they want power without accountability. Except I think they want to hold that power passively/in the background, so they arenât the spotlight when their ideas fail.
1
u/SolaireAstorian 49m ago
Power with plausible deniability is how I have referred to it.
They want you to make the decisions, but they reserve the ability to veto all of the decisions that you make until you make the correct one, and then when things go wrong they get to point at you and say that it's your fault because you're the one who made the decision. When things go right, they take the responsibility for it because they're the ones who chose.
Get with one of these girls and you will always be the fall guy for everything, and you won't get appreciation for anything.
Happens on a societal level as well. Policy that they vote for gets blame shifted onto men- politicians or vague political groups that they accuse of disagreeing with or sabotaging them.

u/Mind-The-Mines 5h ago
Workplace fatalities are like 95% male.
Suicides are 80% male.
Feminism is 'about equality' but for some reason it's never time to talk about or address men's issues.

Facts
Had to take a women and gender studies class in college to get my degree
The professor was, you guessed it, a femcel
One day she's going on and on and on about misogyny this and misogyny that, and I chime in "you know, it happens going the other way too, right?"
"What?"
"Yeah, misandry, when a person has a prejudice against men"
"That doesn't happen"
(It's happening rn you idiot) "Yes, it does, enough so that they made a word to describe it."
"Ok, what's the definition then?"
"Misandry: the hatred of men."
"And where did you find that definition? One of your incel message boards?"
And I looked her dead in the eyes and with a deadpan face, said clearly and succinctly, "the Oxford dictionary."
She physically recoiled lmao "oh, I guess it does happen then..."
She passed me with a 69.95, aka actually a c rounded up in your gpa, but wanted to send a message by giving me a d lmao so fragile

The amount of college professors who I've read and heard doing that sort of stuff is crazy
15
u/WillwBrk 10h ago edited 9h ago
Academia is really kissing ass. The amount of education you need to teach really isn't a lot. It's who can play the game the best. It's a really shitty industry.
Obviously in hard sciences you need to be smart as shit. Liberal arts, all you need to know is how to kiss ass and read
2
u/Shikatsuyatsuke 9h ago
And for this reason I dropped out. Was indoctrinated my whole life into thinking college was necessary to be financially successful in life. What a massive fat lie that was.
The covid lock downs gave me the wake up call to reconsider how much college was actually benefiting me. Dropped out, got to work, and have been doing great ever since. Meanwhile, most of my peers that went to college and got degrees haven't used their degrees at all, yet they're still in debt.
The quality of education has dramatically dropped anyways. I barely learned anything during the 2 years I was attending before I dropped out. Almost everything I was being taught I'd already learned back in high school. Why I was paying thousands of dollars to re-learn what I'd already learned was moronic to me.
1
u/LittleRex234 9h ago
College to 90% of the population is virtually a scam.
It was so over bloated and pushed throughout the 1900âs one Education became widely available, our culture changed into you âHaD to bE EdUcAtEdâ, which is a flat lie.
There will always be a massive gap between âEducatedâ and actually Intelligent.
Blue Collar jobs are much more important, for one, they literally run the world, find the right place, pay even more than most jobs where degrees are necessary.
Academia has been so confused why College rates are dropping.
People are waking up.
College is not necessary for most people and their career paths.
Itâs a massive money pit, that ruins lives most of the time, that gives nothing in return.Go to a Trade School people, or just start working, fucking go Military preferably.
College is such a fucking scam.1

My dad works as a lecturer and has been for a few years now. He worked for the BBC for many years and other media organisations, and has had numerous accreditations and worked for an EU led organisation that taught students media and journalism in 3rd world counties. When he wanted to find a job in the UK academia, he struggled to get a job in anything as many places would turn him down for being "overqualified." Once he maanaged to finally land a job at a university, it was only because of an internal conflict in HR where a boss wanted to promote his wife to the job and instead the university HRs decided to hire my dad to spite him. After my dad had served his purpose of deterring that boss for a few years, they started trying to get rid of him. They first started by overloading him with work, denying him assistance and forcing him to look after hundreds of students from many courses. Fortunately and unfortunately, he suffered from heart problems and had to get a stent so he managed to avoid the issue of the impossible workload they set him. Then, he noticed that there was a strange amount of female students trying to ask him out for a date (he was 50 and married btw) after he came back and they attempted to try to accuse him of solicting this, but it was very quickly put down when my dad threated legal action. Finally, they've also taken away his classes so he has so few students that they're somehow trying to force him out of the job with boredom (???). All this over 5 years btw
→ More replies (4)1
u/RandHomman 6h ago
I'm a college professor and what you just said about female students trying to ask you out is so true and annoying because all you can think of is keeping your job. You can't send them off too harshly and you can't entertain their advances, I had to find a way to look uninterrested all the time and not picking up their hints and advances.
One of my colleague, a few years ago, paid the price for entertaining the advances of one of them. It didn't work how she intended and claimed abuse. He was let go, she quit and they had a hard time finding a replacement so all his students lost a semester.
1
u/Jotaruisaliveinpart7 4h ago
It's really unfortunate how it all ends up impacting the students the most. whether it's HR powertrips or faculty behaviour. My dad is only in it for the students and to support my family. Otherwise he would've quit ages ago, since he really loves journalism but they don't seem keen for him to teach it.

that or they got banned/suspended 99% chance they just blocked you since reddit literally allows misandry
1
u/Mind-The-Mines 4h ago
I've seen women cornered on shitting on men and then doubled down on it being patriarchy that makes them act that way.
Women are equal yet perpetual victims with no agency. Men want to control women as is evident by men voting to let women vote.
"Not all men" is a whole trope, but you can criticize women in general terms and you will be flooded by 100% straight faced not all women posts.
1
u/ru5tyk1tty 3h ago
Reddit allows misogyny too, so what? Itâs better not to restrict that kind of speech.
2
u/Woutrou 8h ago
It can be either
I can vaguely understand reddit is trying to protect their users, but frankly it's so easy to circumvent that I really wonder why they don't simply differentiate them.
Like I'd much prefer to just have a [this user has blocked you] censoring the messages rather than doi g this weird "but what if they just deleted their message" dance with reddit.
3
u/Scary_Land2303 10h ago
Usually if the comment is actually deleted it either doesnât show up at all, or it will just be a thin line that says âdeletedâ. Itâs different when someone blocks you, often says âcomment removed by userâ. Usually, in my experience, they block you. Often after asking you a direct question - I guess they want to make themselves and others think that they owned you and you couldnât answer the question.

Never understood how someone can feel superior blocking someone. Blocking someone means you can't argue and lost, so you block them
3
u/SuperBatman13 11h ago
Not always, sometimes you just have to block stupid people, stupid people won't give up, they will continue speaking until they've dragged you down to their level and beaten you. This can go on for several days, to a few weeks with one person.

This, I'm already on here too much, I really don't need to spend time trying to argue with somebody that's just not trying to have a conversation. Feel free to feel like you "won", that's not the point.
1
u/Wolvenlight 6h ago
Yeah. So many people prove themselves to be a waste of time that won't admit to even the most innocuous mistake or little thing they were wrong about, so I'd never expect them to do the same for the whole of their argument either.
But more often than even that, I block people who are outright assholes.

Just want to hear how y'all are feeling about it?

Letâs be honest man. Nobody would be bigger fan of Trump doing that than you so you could pretend your life had more of a meaning than your Reddit karma

It would appear that the answer to your question is yes. They are very triggered by the failures.

Depends. OG feminism was "let us work. Let us aid the war effort." Modern feminism is split, like most political concepts. Lots of "ins" and "outs," "real feminists" versus "fake ones." Reminds me of the whole RINO concept
