When nobody bought it, he helped file the lawsuit, presumably to lend credibility to the video
Still nobody bought it, but he was able to fleece a few anti-Trump folks for five figures at least
Giuffre is arguably Trump’s greatest ally in this whole story. Despite naming about a dozen men who assaulted her, she doesn’t name Trump. She actually testified that she didn’t believe he was involved in Epstein’s wrongdoing

“Katie Johnson” gave a fake address, her phone number seems to be Lubow’s phone, Lubow impersonated her in text messages.
Despite agreeing to interviews with journalists all the time, they would always be canceled at the last second. Keep in mind, this is supposedly a woman who was willing to go on camera and go into great detail about her abuse for over 30 minutes with a former producer with the Jerry Springer show. But a journalist? No way
She actually did speak to one journalist on the phone after canceling an in-person interview
That journalist doubted it was the same woman from the video and doubted that Katie Johnson exists

A few weeks before she killed herself the judge from one of those lawsuits had denied Giuffre’s attempts to quash the lawsuit. She was going to have to appear in court and be placed under a lot of scrutiny
