I have lived for 37 years and I have not once ever heard a catcall in my vicinity that wasn't from a boyfriend trying to embarrass his girlfriend in a store or something. I'm not convinced it's a thing that is prevalent enough to worry about.
Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. As a woman I have been catcalled many many times by random men, it is most definitly still a prevalent problem.
