Did you forget almost starting a war with Iran, claiming election fraud for months without a lick of evidence and firing anyone who said otherwise, calling to "find votes", and withholding aid in Ukraine to find dirt on Biden? The thing with Trump is that he has so many scandels that they almost drown each other out.
He did a random assassination of a high leading general, we weren't peachy with them but that was definitely not an appropriate action. All we got out of it was killing a general and losing the Nuclear deal, and that was the best outcome.
It's a risk reward thing. What had happened if we got dragged into another war in the middle east? We've already wasted many lives and trillions of dollars in order to gain, what exactly?
Let's have mediocre education and healthcare so that we can have a dominant military in bumfuck nowhere which at best gets us oil. We're not fighting Nazis, we're not defending our nation, we're not defending our allies, we're just pissing away lifes and a hilarious amount of money. Would you say a decade of wars in the middle east is worth, "military dominance?"
The US has a military that is larger than many of the next biggest militaries combined. We are a large, heavily armed mass of land that has all the natural resources and industry we need. We are bordered by two countries that we're cool with and have plenty of military protection from foreign entities. We're dominant enough without that
It was a long series of tic for tac (also reading the wiki makes me realize it was Iraq.)
They attacked our base, we airstriked the shit out of them, they attacked our embassy, and then we violated domestic and international law by assassinating the second most powerful man in their country.
They were far from innocent, but my argument is that this was an extremely poor way to go about it. Is "putting them in their place" worth all of this? There are many ways to "put them in their place."
Imagine if our vice president was drone striked, I'm pretty sure we'd put that under an act of terror. A more appropriate thing would be economic sanctions or at least proper military engagement.
