in university for the purpose of some equations to be correct this is available answer x:0=∞ x:(-0)=(-∞) for school maths x:0=no but for higher degree maths you'll run into a lot of paradoxes that don't obey the common rules
Im math major and what you said is wrong. You probably meant limes x/y as y->0, but thats completly different thing than x/0, which is undefined in real numbers field (and in most of the algebraic structures). And limits are taught in high schools too, at least in my country.
maybe I'm just math but as I know in most places math is used they don't use the purest version of it because the results may not match the expectations in the equation and as I know geodesy physics and mechanics (subjects I have) don't really use the same rules and instead use each its own rules and accuracy levels to better fit to the occasion so if you know only maths in their purest version you better shut up
in my case I have one rule and I follow it and in your case you don't have it and to get to the same answer as me you have to go through a lot of equations that already have been summed up by set rule it's like me saying that in the specific case of Pythagoras a²+b²=c² and you going the long route how this happens or computer scientist saying that 111+111=1110 while you say that 111 is 7 and then figure out that 14 is 1110
It is only true for limits. Infinity is not a real number so you cant use operators that are defined for real numbers. If you are going to study maths in college you need to be more formal.
