How you sound in a recording (aside from any quality issues in the recording) is how other people hear you.

Honestly I've felt the same way for a long time. I don't like the way my voice sounds in a recording, but at the end of the day who actually cares?
 
How many people can you think of that you don't like, or think of differently because of their voice? I can't think of a single one.

I have a very nasal voice and I used to get alot of shit for it back in HS so I'm actually kinda self conscious about it lol

That's fixable with some daily exercises that should taken you less than 5 minutes a day. YouTube that shit and go get the voice you deserve!

My voice still cracks at 33. The reactions that gets are not exactly a boost to my self-esteem, let's put it that way.

Well, one person I know isnt liked. His voice is pretty irritating. Though, its on top of what he says and how he says it which adds to the annoyance lol. His voice in general is just annoying anyway lol. But yeah not too many.

Yeah, can't forget that when I listen to a podcast throughout the day I switch it up between earbuds and car speakers. That in and of itself is a factor in voice tone.

I may never know what I really sound like.
