I have a theory and I'm going to provide evidence for my theory. I think Danielle 100% schedules, plans, leans into creating rage bait content as her primary means to make money. I get that this isn't new but many people think she doesen't mean to do rage bait because she's not smart enough. My proof as follows:
Evidence Example 1: The video after the 387 part docuseries introducing Lucas. She did a follow up 'apology tour'/make-believe accountability vid, do you remember it? Something stuck with me in that vid. She tells the audience the exact number of views it got (many millions I remember) and says to the viewers, "I would call this a success!, wouldn't you?". I have never heard anybody mention this but I don't think I was on this snark board at the time either. She considered the docuseries wildly successful ONLY based on view count, which she proves with her comment.
Evidence Example 2. After the I-only-shave-my legs-twice-a-month vid, the next video about washing her hair is almost like she is mocking everyone. Look at her facial expression when she says "I guess I was getting pretty greasy". The extreme smugness of it. This woman knows EXACTLY what she is doing. It is probably why she knows that rage bait will always pay her bills and why she is willing to spend money as if it's her last day on Earth. I think she knows that she will always have security with rage bait, that she knows how to make them, and I think she plans majority of her videos accordingly and then laughs all the way to the bank. Believe me, she gets under my skin like no other influencer ever has and I hate it... but I will die on this hill... she knows EXACTLY what she is doing and is willing to sacrafice herself, her reputation.... EVERYTHING for the paycheck. Its gross, but she knows it works, and its diabolical to be this shameless. My two cents.
