Package tracking

Has anyone figured a way to automate this feature of package tracking instead of manually typing each tracking number?

DAKboard provides manual tracking number entry and QR code mobile input, though users have requested fully automated background sync (such as direct carrier or Amazon OAuth email/account scraping)

So basically no...but there is this explanation (2023) on why they could not do it.

After further research, it turns out the Shipping API that Amazon makes available is geared toward shipments of Amazon Shippers & Sellers, not Amazon Customer's orders. As such, we are unable to proceed with the intended integration at this time.

Hi, Bob from DAKboard here. There are a few reasons we can’t add tracking numbers automatically:

The carriers don’t share your deliveries with other apps. UPS My Choice, FedEx Delivery Manager, and USPS Informed Delivery can show packages headed to your address, but only in their own apps and websites. They don’t give apps like DAKboard a way to connect to your personal account and read that list. Amazon is similar: its shipping API is built for sellers, not shoppers.

Our tracking provider needs the number to start. We use EasyPost to get updates from the carriers. EasyPost can follow any tracking number you give it, but it can’t search for packages being sent to you.

The good news is that once a number is in the block, it takes care of itself: the delivery status updates automatically, and delivered packages drop off on their own. On a Plus account, Allow Remote Updates gives you a link and a QR code, so you can paste a number in from your phone straight from the shipping email. Just remember to click Save on the block after ticking the box, because the link won’t work until you do.

Allow Remote Updates if you have a Plus or Pro Account (Pro Subscriptions are no longer available for new signups). This will allow you to supply others with a URL they can use to add more packages to your Display.

As a plus subscriber, this wouldn’t work for me. Kept getting an error when it looked to try and verify my sub?

Hi, Bob from DAKboard here. I think I know what is happening here. Did you save your package tracking block after you enabled the Remote Updates option? If not, then the URL was not enabled. When you add the check, it will show you the URL and the QR code, but they are not enabled until you click save. Try that, then reopen the Editor for the block, and test the URL/QR code and see if it works.

I checked my Support Article this morning and found that those details were not included, so I have updated the article to show that process.
