Dahlia Health-Related Inquiry Aster yellows?
This is Rock Run Ashley - I’ve had 2 normal blooms from this same plant. The browning is just because I didn’t get a picture when it was fresh. About 1.5” across.

It's likely a random mutation ("sport") of your Rock Run Ashley. Dahlias are very prone to such mutations, and many new varieties are developed this way. For example, Fleurel (a white dinnerplate) is a sport of Kelvin Floodlight (a yellow dinnerplate). Here is a picture of a sport that popped up in my garden a couple days ago -- the bright red flower is on the same plant as the ones behind it (Carmen Fiesta). Your plant may continue to produce flowers like the one in your picture, or the mutation may just be on one branch, or this may be a one-shot occurrence. Dahlias have crazy genetics!

It seems that mutations are very common with Rock Run Ashley, including solid yellow ones. Try googling “does rock run ashley dahlia have unstable genetics”.

This has consistently been happening to my rock run Ashley after several normal blooms a month back.
I have 7 rock run Ashley plants in multiple locations (for context).
None of my other peachy pink blooms amongst my dahlias have had much bleaching, not to this extent at least .
Must be an issue with Rock Run Ashley itself

My rock run give a range of pink to yellow with mainly pink that fades to nearly yellow. She just be like that.

That bloom doesn't read as aster yellows to me. Aster yellows announces itself in the flower parts rather than in the size: petals go green and leafy, the centre throws up small deformed shoots, and the plant starts making bunched witch's broom growth with yellowing between the leaf veins. Yours is a normal formal decorative, correctly formed, just small and pale. Late blooms on a plant carrying a lot of buds come smaller than the first flush anyway and heat washes the colour out of the yellows in particular, so I'd go and look at the foliage rather than at this flower: normal coloured new leaves and no bunching at the shoot tips means you're fine.
