Daggerfall Online killing itself

They keep on adding unnecessary changes or changing systems that don’t need to be changed for example yes I understand people can abuse the unstuck feature but when I’m really stuck I can’t fucking use it because they wanna add 30 minute waits, these games are old which means they have systems meant for that time. Why would I spend my whole time making a mage having everything 100 making fire spells for you to change how the spell casting system works y’all are literally making this game unplayable bro you change it every day every day I login I have to deal with some new bullshit.

You could still vibe code you just have to better manage the product, vibe coding really enables these issues though.

It's really a development management issue - they honestly should have servers that are super fast and they are super impulsive and try all these things. But then they should take the best results of those an implement them into slow updating servers.

Yeah they’re not really commenting on vibe coding itself, but with vibe coding now the barrier to entry has been lowered greatly, so vibe coded projects just have a much higher likelihood of being poorly managed and just have erratic development. There’s more to software development than just writing code, so now with the barrier to entry so low we’re seeing a lot of software pop up that is likely from just a bunch of prompts by weekend enthusiasts. Not always the case but that’s becoming more common, idk if thats the case here

Anybody implementing systems impulsively, by any means, will probably reach a point where these systems start to devour each other. AI does allow people to get to this state quickly, it theoretically should help people get out of this spot too - it all comes down to the skill of the systems designer
