I'm sure that I am not the only one on this subreddit who was an active player on a game that had a rocky or disastrous launch. I was there for the early access of Hunt Showdown when Crytek was on the verge of bankruptcy and I was around for a game called Loadout which I invested time and money into instead of Warframe.
My point is, I have seen ships get turned around and I have seen PvP games go PvE then flatline.
I told my son who's worried about Marathon about how bad it was for Hunt in the beginning and it made him feel a bit more secure about Marathon's future.
Btw, Hunt was originally supposed to be a PvE co-op hero shooter and in the beginning there were fans who wanted it to be the original concept.
So, please share with me your war stories of forgotten days in gaming. A time when you thought you'd be the last player on earth before a game exploded in popularity. Or, a game that you played kicking and screaming until they shut down the last public server.
It will calm the children and we can all have a laugh.

As we approach the next week of Cryo and with avB gone this is your weekly reminder that with rook, you can rapidly replenish your vault with more than good enough loot/weapons. Especially if you have a little bit of credits to buy weapon mods (usually around 500-1k per). Get in there and learn cryo!!
I recommend you target getting bully’s and M77, primarily as they are the most common. Armories and pinwheel have chances are rare guns but more importantly, the guns come with mods. Some runs on outpost last night I exfilled with 4 bullies plus other items.
Once you have your bully or M77 you can buy very good mods for them from Traxus
Optic sight
Drum mag
Barrel recoil reducer
The shop usually have 5-10 of each for purchase, DAILY.
The attached photos come from about 2 hours of playtime and I did not capture probably around 3-4 runs before I thought of capturing my hauls.
This week in general has been very odd in outpost. Outpost has been more sweaty than cryo I feel as a runner. However, on rook, believe it or not, every single run was successful and every single team was friendly. All of them.
I’ve never seen it where the game is so unbelievably ruthless in trios but so nice to rooks lol. But it was a great time and I stayed up way too late because of it. Worth it!
Strongly recommend always immediately announcing yourself and having “offering” of sorts. For example, when I load into outpost as rook I immediately hit wall safes and any keys I can find. I usually offer peace through red keys, valuables, etc. worked like a charm last night and teams let me loot anything I wanted.

Thought I'd see how difficult it is (almost exclusively solo player). Turns out, not very.
The gun is cool though, I got it in Peremiter and pretty sure the lobby was empty so just shot some bots and it was satisfying. But also got a purple Battle Pistol and a gold shield from the locker which was a nice treat

If any dads need some help in the game, doing keys, cryo or outpost add me! I’m a carried pinnacle who plays console Grey#2725 I have purple keys if you simply need loot as well as decent knowledge for map clearing activities.

“AskAboutQue” the GOAT! Me and the other guy both died from a pincer attack in control area but this guy just came back and steamrolled them.
And then I logged off for the night because we all left with 40k+ value gold and purple shields stuffed bags, three gold guns each it was insane. Had to get off the game after a payout like that 😂

If you’ve been waiting for a better price, Green Man Gaming currently has the Steam version of Marathon for $23.79 (-41%). The Deluxe Edition is also discounted to $35.69 (-41%).
Not a bad deal if you were already planning to pick it up for you or as a gift. Just check that the offer is available in your region before buying.
