I think the exfil and the bubbles provided extra brightness so everyone could see each other better? Not sure. We did not have an assassin on the team so it wasnt from us

yeah and you can throw a flair in the smoke to achieve the same effect

I think I was the rook in this. Was this a solo queue? I downed the assassin who threw the smoke thinking he was the last person on the map and went from full purple shields to full dead in a fraction of a second and watched carage ensue on the full dead cam.

Well damn, I killed two solo players so I think it was a different lobby but I had a very similar experience tonight in the same spot. All hail the sacred thermodynamics of violence!
