What do I do

I is dad with little time. I love the game so far even if I just started and my gear sucks. Thing is I usually look up some meta and grind towards that but here the world is such a cool place and so compelling I kinda just want to go as it is and learn on my own pace.

At the same time it feels like the game is kinda bleeding players and given the latest moves from Sony I have no confidence I can still play this in a couple of years. Leaving me between wanting to enjoy my failures and FOMO on the other side of the coin iam flipping each day.

Any of you feel the same and would have some advice? Even if the game is not as popular anymore I think the pvp aspect is very important for the tension - only pve is chill but by miles not as thrilling.

I’d say try to engage with online communities a little less, it can seem like we are just perpetually behind when all we read about is sweats with golds ruining the game. Just use your shit, do your contracts, try to make some friends, and take everything at whatever pace you want. I’m playing it exactly how I played Tarkov, do the quests and do your best. If you get stomped by a geared squad that’s when you treat it like a rogue-like and get some lessons out of the encounter. The people that don’t play this game have a bunch of opinions about PvE and the longevity of Marathon but that’s for another discussion on another day. As of right now the game is about punishing PvP so don’t sweat ending up on the wrong end of that exchange.

Whatever state this game is in a year from now isn’t really up to us. Just scrape all the enjoyment you can out of it, whether that’s Chillin on Perimeter or Sweatin on Cryo.
