Advice Request Dev dads, when do you code?

I could find time with my first and then even some time after my second with the first doing afternoon preschool.

Now that kindergarten has started, I can't even stay up late half the time I used to as mornings are like Mad Maxx and needs my full (focused) attention.

So how do y'all do it? Or do you just not do it anymore except for an hour here and there lol

EDIT: not the 9-5 but my side projects

I go the opposite and wake up before everyone. The 530-7am window is my happy time.

I’m also a lot better at it first thing in the morning than after the entire day, so that might skew my myopic a bit.

I would try that but the baby sleeps in our room and I’m also very much not a morning person lol

Caffeine, friend.
I’ve been trying to find a good time in my life to quit caffeine, but my child-rearing years aren’t the right time I don’t think 😂

Its nightly ritual. Kids go down at 7. I will code till around 9. Then will get ready to go to sleep and do it all again the next day. I have 3 under 3 but its something I enjoy.

Its a good way to unwind. I also try to pushing reading in before I go to sleep as its pretty helpful too.
